- Harry's asthma and allergies are flaring up in the autumn and spring seasons during his tour. They are so severe that he has a hard time singing and has to resort to lip syncing some of his songs at the tail end of his Asia leg - various locations in March 2023.
Despite Harry's health, he continues to entertain millions across the world. Asthma is a very common condition and affects each person differently, and is typically very manageable.

I was lucky enough to been able to see Harry on 9 different shows (from Coachella to Europe) and I was in at his two last show in Japan in march. I can said when he is feeling good or not and definitely he was not feeling good in Japan. Deeper voice, the cough, very few smiles (I haven’t notice any lip syncs). But still shows were amazing as always. I was happy for him that he takes a big break before Europe. Love Harry ❤ THE performer.

I always imagine lip syncing must be so stressful, in a different way to singing I mean. We all know that he must have been feeling truly awful to resort to it, and I dearly hope he won’t view it as a failure. I just wish he could take more breaks when it’s this bad… flare ups are no fun and depending on severity, possibly even risking life threatening situations :(
Lip syncing looks incredibly hard. He did an amazing job with it though.

He really needs to slow down. People get really sick by pushing themselves so hard. And as a person with asthma, there are triggers that he's encountering in different areas and it can land him in the hospital. My.prayers go out to him for a quick recovery.
I wish he didn’t cram so many shows over the last year he was touring. But at least he’s done now and hopefully resting.
He didn't lip sync, he never did, it doesn't even sound like lip syncing it sounds live.

@cherryluv444 no. Most singers have sometimes a bit of backing vocals to support their voice when they jump and move alot on stage, yes, but nit lip syncing. Especially when harry messes up lyrics and laughs in the middle and u can see he sings live.

@_amtendo_ many singers sometimes have backgrounds vocals very low to support their voice when they move alot on stage. U can find countless of videos of harry laughing in the middle of the song or messing up thr lyrics, he sings live, that's not lip syncing
The last part made me tear up. I hope he was able to reset his body and he can come back for the last part of tour. Hope he ends this year strong. I hate seeing him not feeling well :(

Thank you so much for making this video. It’s just more evidence of how hard Harry works, and how badly he wants to put on the best show he can for his fans. I hate thinking of all he has to go through (imagine how painful it is to plan these lip syncs with the sound crew 😢) when he’s feeling so poorly. But I’m also in total awe of how skilled and talented he is, to be such an incredible performer despite his health issues. ❤

Allow this video to be a glimpse into what it means to be a massive pop star- he is clearly physically exhausted and needs plenty of rest, however due to contractual obligations and millions of dollars that have been invested into his brand and the orchestration of this concert/ tour, etc. unfortunately the show has to go on. For some ♥️💯 lip syncing is frowned upon, but its necessary in allowing the show to go on.

in Bangkok it was extremely humid and hot, and he was in his uncomfortable pailettes suit (so gorgeous), we cannot blame him vor coughing and sweating...

You’ve cited some interesting half knowledge here. But actually you’ve disproved it in doing so . If someone lip syncs, the phrasing is always the same. You just showed a bunch of clips where he sounds very different in most of them in timing and pitch. . Harry does have asthma yes and there should never be stigma round any illness. He also works very hard keeping fit as he runs around constantly during the show. On this tour he has done everything humanly possible to stay fit, including not drinking, working out and getting plenty of sleep. When artists lip sync they invariable have a double track running behind them which makes it really hard to tell what’s going on. There’s no ‘dub’ here. Also what the audience hears is mixed from front of house in the middle of the audience about 120 feet back on the stadium floor ( usually ) NOT from stage right and Monitors ( what the band hears is mixed from upstage left ( over H’s left shoulder ). Interestingly you also cited his mic being off for songs and on between songs to announce and talk to the audience( this is called top and tail ). and yet you often hear him coughing in the middle of phrases when his mic should, by that rationale, be off ….
Anyway whatever yourtheory H is a great performer and singer. Also extremely good at repeat performance. I know you’re not dissing him with this film but I feel like I should point out the flaws in this critique

I think he suffers from the humidity in the Asian countries. It is very humid there, which makes him stuffy quickly.

Ahhh me poupe. Eu assisti o show do Harry no Brasil. Posso garantir que não tem playback. Ele sempre teve problema de tossir. Sempre. Ele tem asma. Inclusive várias vezes ele da risada nas músicas e aparece nas músicas. Aqui no Brasil ele errou o tom de As It Was pá se enroscou no fio do microfone e ficou evidente que ele não usa playback.

It looks like Harry Styles Asthma is worser than my Ville Valo's Asthma, I don't sees my Ville Valo coughing that much, unless you can't hears him, the music and instruments are totally loud and my Ville Valo hides his coughing excellently ( my Ville Valo has Severe Asthma Overlap. ) Harry Styles should tries Oral Asthma medications like my Ville Valo, he's not extremely severely congested like Harry Styles.

Yes, he may have time lip sync sometimes but he hates to, He has a very server case of Asthma and has suffered most of his life, so he can be forgiven for that Harry has been in hospital, so many times, please don't be rude by pointing g out his Medical problems... BE KIND OR SAY NOTHING.....
It’s amazing how he can run and jump around on stage even though he gets so out of breath and even though he struggles to breathe on stage while his performing he doesn’t worry about it and just keeps going and he doesn’t get embarrassed or anything he’s such a superstar and it’s ok that he takes long breaks between songs cause he needs to. The coughing must annoy him though but I suppose that is part of having asthma :(

Hnarry doesn't lip sync, years ago One Direction on stage and Harry was sick hardly sang but on stage, Niall had to tell Harry to stop talking and safe his voice, stop spreading lies snd starting fake rumors mmm ..
I hope I’m not spreading lies. I just show what I see. I don’t mean to cause any issues. There’s no shame in lip syncing if he’s not well enough to sing.
He did lip synch the first 1D concert in Wembly when he was too sick to sing.

I love this fact filled video, its extremely sad that he had to lip sync a few songs at the end of the Asia leg. Just a quick question, did he lip sync any song for the Singapore show on 17 March 2023? Cos I was there for that show and his voice did sound quite congested 😭 In addition, im not sure if he comes on stage late for his other shows but the show was meant to start at 8pm but he only stepped on stage at 8:13pm. And it was very clear that he was exhausted, extremely obvious on the huge screens from his face, etc. I also noticed that he had way less energy and he didnt look as into the dancing parts of the show compared to some of his other shows. However, it was a fantastic show ofc!! But, I thank you for posting this video, watching it for the 4th time already lmao. I hope H gets better, I believe as a Harrie that he would never need to lip sync unless under these serious circumstances, I know by heart that he felt disappointed when he had to lip sync and u could see the fear in his eyes if he had messed up the lyrics. His shaky voice at the end honestly just shattered my harry heart😭 I love u Haz, please take care of yourself 💚

Thanks for your comment! I agree that he wouldn’t lip sync unless he had to, and there’s no shame in it. The man has gone over 100 shows this year- his voice needs a break. I didn’t look close enough at Singapore, but I probably should have. He seemed not fully healthy the whole month unfortunately.
He started late too in Manila by 8:25 PM and thinking it would be finished by 10:30 PM, it was disappointing because at 9:40 PM people were already leaving. It was only 1 hr & 15 minutes. Even the ushers and security personnel were surprised to see people were already exiting early. Seeing this video, it's possible he lip-sync but not all songs so maybe to give rest for his throat even for a short while.
Definitely as I’ve been watching his performances since the beginning of the tour. I’m concerned he’s overexerting himself. Harry is incredibly gifted and has the voice of an angel. He doesn’t have to lip sing but a persons body, voice etc can only take so much. I’ve seen too many times where the management will push the performer(s) beyond what they can do. It is not ok. Just from the interviews I’ve seen of Harry speaking about how he adamantly cares for his body is testament he’s doing everything right for his wellbeing. Of course no one knows what goes on behind the scenes. After this tour he most definitely needs to take time off. He cares so deeply about his fans that he doesn’t want to disappoint but he needs to know his fans are forever backing him even if he takes time off or goes away for a little while. I’ve followed him since his 1D days. We care ❤️

Wow excellent observation as always! I was at 2 of his shows the Melbourne night 2 and Gold Coast. Melbourne he seemed almost normal but Gold Coast I thought he was very congested and short of breath actually. He kept whining about the heat throughout though. I had always worried about the Asia leg because of the air pollution situation that I have heard about. Also I noticed that he was wheezing quite a bit during his Grammy acceptance speeches and the post show press meet. I think I also noticed Tom ask him at one point on the stage if he was alright. Also I feel as if anxiety induces some of his symptoms too you know and he starts to hunch a bit when he is feeling poorly with his asthma you know, like his shoulders droop and his neck and collarbone area become more hollow than normal. BTW really missed your videos though.

A classic sign of breathing issues is the hunching forward. I also thought Gold Coast was worse for him. Glad he’s resting now.

In his gap from tour, he should have spent time getting himself checked by a Specialist for respiratory problems so his Asthma wouldn't be Acute.
I’m sure he has good doctors, or at least we can hope he does.

@emilyysutton Asthma causes the airways to swell and get inflamed, and also produces mucus in response as well.
Admiro tu capacidad de observar detenidamente los videos y ser asertiva. No debe ser la primera vez que canta con el micrófono apagado, y más con los desencadenantes que presenta (alergia, asma...). Debe ser estresante no sentirse bien y continuar con la presentación. Cuando canta WMYB siempre se queda sin aliento (muchos videos, y en la misma estrofa se cansa). Esperemos que se tome un descanso de meses... y que su manager no le agende presentaciones para finales de año.

Yikes this was rough 😭 He has never lip synced before making it obvious he was really not feeling well. I find it odd he chose to only lip sync two different songs but maybe they were just more difficult to execute. It hurts to see him not feeling 100%. But in normal Harry Style (see what I did there) he seemed to pull it off to the best of his abilities. Tokyo definitely seemed to be the most difficult for him. He was coughing A LOT throughout many shows, I feel so bad that he had to push through it over and over again. I hope that he doesn’t receive hate from anyone being upset that he didn’t perform live for a couple songs, all he was trying to do was give his voice a rest. I’m glad he realized that he needed a break to not over exert himself. Honestly, the voice shake at the end broke my heart. Fingers crossed he was alright, and that he’ll be feeling better for is next shows!

Wow I kind of noticed this lip syncing thing in some of his shows, I thought it was only a guiding sound of him singing so that he doesn’t mess up the lyrics or to kind of reinforce his voice, his shows are great, I get worried sometimes if this is gonna be something he counts on in his upcoming shows, I know he is a human after all but I really wonder if we are going to see him full of energy dancing and actually singing the next years, I heard that asthma gets worse with age, I hope he takes enough breaks and I hope his health problems get better (if there is any), I personally wanna keep watching him being healthy and energetic, I hope his health problems don’t be a reason to get him away from what he is doing, from us 💗✨🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing these things that help to know more about this health problem (symptoms, effects, medication…) it’s really interesting !

@@MyMindMood you are definitely wrong on the lip syncing part.and you are definitely wrong where the sound guy is located in the show.the console and everything which is in the middle of the ground level is master console and the stage sound engineers are always on the side of the stage.you were mistaken with the "looks"for the sound guy.so he is definitely not lip syncing in any part of the video.what you are hearing is his band singing unison with him (count please how many of them are actually singing).the third thing....lip syncing is not actually hard because you are performing the song as you have recorded it....and when you are recording a song (and performing it)you have a muscle memory even for singing.If he would be lip syncing (which he is not)it wouldn't be a problem for him since he is not doing as many ad-libs and is singing actually the same way as on the recording So I am sorry but you are definitely wrong in here and over dramatizing .
