This band was really milked at the expense of the health of its members (mental and physical). Around 2014-2015 Harry had lost a lot of the power his voice naturally holds due to being overused and not getting the rest he should and it was showing in performances. His asthma of course wasn't helping either. I'm glad he now gets to take the time he needs in between tours, his vocals are better than ever.
So true. Harry was on vocal rest for a period of time in 2015. He has also talked about how he felt like a machine/robot for those 1D years and he didn't really get to enjoy the experience.
I noticed that during wmyb when Harry was singing his solo part you can see Liam mouthing to management ‘it’s bad’

It's amazing he sings so well while fighting off an asthma attack. What I don't understand though is why he doesn't keep an inhalar nearby on the stage. I mean, he shouldn't feel like he has to try to hide it. Most of all, we all need to take care of ourselves first, and that's not being selfish!
He went through a rough patch here in September and was sick for a lot of the month. It’s hard to see him struggling so much, but yes, he still sounds amazing 🤩

this is off topic but I love how interactive Harry is. he’s always waving to fans, nodding to them, responding to signs, etc.

Harry looked really exhausted, I don't understand why they pushed him to sing when he is clearly sick he kept coughing during their whole performance and yet he continued to perform its parts it is truly amazing.
It was all about the money I'm sure. Fame and fortune comes at a cost.
I hope that today he has less health problems even though I know that asthma is still present, because the year 2014 was really complicated for him
unless there's a really valid reason why they can't perform that is out of their control (often having something like asthma isn't enough), insurance won't pay out. insurance companies don't give a shit how miserable they are the entire show, just that they do the show. it honestly makes me feel a bit sick ew

Take it from me, An asthmatic can pick another asthmatic from a mile away and yes it’s an embarrassing thing to have; look at all the nerdy stereotypes on tv in the 80s & 90s? Every dork on TV back then was sucking on ventolin; you were seen as weak and a nerd. Any wonder asthmatics are embarrassed and hide it some. Harry hasn’t let it stop him though, he’s a legend and also very gracious to push on so as to not let his fans down.
Okay so having asthma isn’t considered cool …so Harry was probably forced to hide his discomfort even and maybe even forced to carry on without using medications…u can tell that even when he was using his inhalers he would try to hide it and be discreet…who knows who’s choice it was to hide …his or the management’s.
Yes, all very true. It is unfortunate that asthma has been portrayed that way. Harry loves entertaining so much that he doesn't let his challenges stop him.

I still don’t get it….why would they do this to Harry…he looked like he was gonna collapse while singing wmyb …I also felt that harry was looking ill, weak and skinnier even as the tour progressed…I don’t think he was adequately treated…the man can’t breathe and yet he sings …his commitment never ceases to amaze me…good work once again man

He had so many health issues in 1D, it’s hard to know.
I just don’t understand why they pushed Harry when there’s 4 other singers. Give more lines to the other members for god’s sake
They pushed them all, but Harry’s body couldn’t physically handle the the intense schedule. Other boys struggled as well.

I don't know why this appeared to me only now, but there's something interesting about the time line of the shows we see Harry struggle. N3 at Rose Bowl, Passadena (Sep. 13th) was supposedly the when Harry had an asthma attack after the concert and had to go to hospital - we never got confirmation for it, it's speculation up to today, but he wasn't out with the rest celebrating Niall's birthday. They were playing shows on the 16th and 19th in Glendale and El Paso, before the iHeart Music Festival on Sep 20th, featured in this video. The next day they played in San Antonio, where Harry still seemed quite bothered . Im not from the US, but from my geography knowledge all those cities are located in an area that had lot of desert around it. All in all, 2014 seemed to be the beginning of those ongoing issues continuing until the end of 2015, but they happened in episodes. The UK shows around Wembley were all in that episode of being sick with a cold (by now we got confirmation Harry had tonsilitis at that point). And those US shows seemed all to be around those more deserty cities. Not sure about hay fever season in the US, for Europe it's usually late June to September. But desert climate seems to be an issue, we can see that years later with Coachella 2022. The Four hangout livestream was happening much later and inside, which indicates it's either a cold again or another allergent. We get another of those bundled occasions with the Late Late Interview and the Billboard Music Awards in May 2015. I haven't looked further into 2015 yet, though.

Be sick and having asthma doesn’t mix well. Poor thing. I’m speaking for experience because I have asthma but not as bad as Harry. I hate that the boys health was push to the side.
It is very unfortunate how they were pushed so hard.
I did the same and felt the same as harry I was having asthma problems during a big running test at school and they don't know I have asthma so I acted like I was okay and after I was talking and holding in coughs but I couldn't anymore and my classmate knew I wasn't ok so he helped me

@@MyMindMood it is, trust me. Thank you I’m trying to stay as safe as I can but it’s summer and not only does stress triggers my asthma but also heat. I’ve been wheezing for the past 2 days. I hope ur staying safe also.

Nope I'll be having asthma for the rest of my life and I can't hold in a cough. It's really scary when you start coughing really hard and it feels like your about to have an asthma attack which I've had those before. You definitely can't hold in a cough and it'll only make it worst. Do you have to take medicine with your's? I know I have to

Thank you for all your videos. how did you discovered that he was asthmatic? i discovered that in September 2014, he was reportedly hospitalized for an attack of asme!

Yes hospitalization would make total sense… it would be nothing short of a miracle if he wouldnt end up in hospital given how ill he has been over this whole tour… i believe in 2018 during his solo tour as well he was hospitalized when he was in mexico i think

@@MyMindMood I had seen posts on twitter saying that Harry was on his way to the hospital when he was mobbed by insensitive fans and they ended up breaking the window of his car…an ambulance was following the car…it was I think it was in June 2018 right before his Mexico shows…he was discharged the next day from what I had heard but pls don’t quote me on this…there were pictures where he was seen in quite severe distress etc

I have asthma and allergies too and I can’t imagine trying to sing while you have this tickle at the back of your throat and it feels like an elephant is sitting on your chest!😣 Harry never used it as an excuse either and lots of people would!😽💚♥️

The wheezing through the teeth to draw in a breath is a dead giveaway; apparently my bff says I do that too, I do know it bloody hurts. I love the way the boys are so close and supportive of each other; they all know about Harry’s asthma. And Liam standing next to him and looks so angry at management for making him sing whilst he’s crook like that- even mouthing to them “ it’s bad” when Harrys doing his solo. BTW I’m 🇦🇺 and crook or butchers hook is Aussie slang for sick 👍🏻
Yeah, you can tell when someone is using accessory muscles to breathe. I can imagine it hurts. BTW, I like the "crook" slang!
Having horrible asthma as a kid myself, I can imagine how painful it was trying to sing while gasping for air. I don't know how he did it. It's a miracle he didn't need a nebulizer treatment in the hospital.😞
I don’t know either, but he did. He missed the interview after this show, so he obviously wasn’t feeling good.

The fact that he had to hide him coughing shows how bad the management treated them, asthma can be really dangerous, if he's having an asthma attack take him off stage, he was ill, I hate how the management treated them

They didn't care. Plus he was sick so much that they'd be cancelling tons of gigs if they did it every time he wasn't well.
Asthma is diagnosed by tracking poor scores in peak flow meter testing and other pulmonary tests prior to bronchial dilator treatment such as albuterol. If there is an improvement in peak flow score post treatment, then asthma is diagnosed. Hopefully he was tested. I am sure he didn't just get albuterol without a dr.
I think most countries won’t prescribe it without evidence of need. I’m fairly certain he would be under the care of a doctor.

@@sammylj3644 it's not out of context she was asked about it, and he definitely has some chest/lungs problems (which would be the reason why he uses an inhaler), but it's definitely not asthma

During WMYB, If you look closely, Harry is shaking alot. Then, towards the end, He closes his eyes, and drops slightly to the ground due to oxygen deprivation. He needs a break. No matter how long it takes, Haz needs a break. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
