I had to block a person for just screwing with me, he offered $5 for $40 shoes, I went down to $35 he countered $6..I blocked him
I also block most buyers that ask too many questions. I’ve been doing this long enough that I learned if the questions get too “nit-picky” it’s going to be a likely return.
I had to pause video to put my penny's worth in. The two of you work brilliantly because as a whole you are greater than the parts. Your channel works because of the chemistry and interaction of BOTH of you. Personally, I find the question posed as completely off the mark, even if it was 'tongue in cheek'. Lonnie your charm, sweetness, honesty is uncommon and has great appeal. Your character engaging. No more talk of marrying up or down. Hey guys, 22:32 I have found the best way to use packing peanuts...Put them loosely in a plastic bag, seal it shut, then nestle your item in the peanuts (Kind of like a pillow) and then do the same to cover the item. I feel that that protects them almost as well as Styrofoam that was formed to a specific item. This trick is great for packing glass items. (I hope you get what I mean?)
And no peanuts flying allll over the place! Great 💡 idea.

Your local video game store usually has disc resurfacing services for $1-5 a whack. The price usually depends on the store and how many you have to resurface.
Your reasoning about responding to low bidders instead of blocking them is absolutely correct. ebays algorithm prefers engagement and rewards engagement. Even negative engagement/discussion gives you a positive effect. On the flip side - blocking gives your account a minor error. if you try to do that on a regular basis, it may affect your account very badly. So, your guess, brother is totally right! keep responding to those suckers.
I only block non payers. I only sell my unwanted household things and clothes in my spare time. So they wasted my time. When I add a new non payer to my block list I noticed quite a few accounts have been deleted over time 😂
So glad to hear what you had to say about packing peanuts. I use plain paper as void fill about 85% of the time, but there are certain items that are very fragile and the absolute best way I've found is to pack them with peanuts. I personally don't like working with peanuts anymore than someone likes getting them, but I am so glad to have them when I need them. Packing is something I spend a lot of time on, and it's also what I get the most feedback on. So far, no one has complained when their fragile item gets to them in great condition surrounded by peanuts. LOL BTW, as an aside, I really appreciate all your packing tips. About a year ago, I saw you show how to resize boxes and it was a game changer for me. I do it all the time now. Have a great day, and I hope Candice feels better soon 🙂
Totally agree with what you said about pride in shipping translating to positive outlook from buyers. I used to use used beat-up boxes and that horrible ebay tape. Now I use new, clean boxes and good clear 3" tape. I also started including little info packets with a thank you and coupons. Went from getting no feedback to getting people raving about shipping quality and the buying experience.
Been there on the customer packing advice. Sold a unique Coleman lantern for over $800. The guy was a collector. He messaged me with a “specific plan” on how to pack the item. For $800, guess what I did? Followed the directions and got a happy customer. Did sweat it!
I do use newspaper, but I always use a single sheet of tissue paper around an item first, so that it doesn't get any newsprint transfer on it. One of our local papers has a really nice thick paper though, so I like to use that.
WOW... you got 1OO% positive? How do you manage that... I have no idea. I have been very much in DS business on ebay for years back in 2O15 -2O17 and honestly I saw only a few people on your level manage a 1OO%. RESPECT!!
I completely agree about using newspaper. I hate touching newspaper, so I would never use it. I don't like receiving it, although I won't complain about it, *unless* they wrap the actual item in it, given that it absolutely can transfer some of the ink to the item. (I haven't received an item packed like that in probably over a decade.)
I also agree about nice packaging being a great use of a few extra moments of your time & a bit of your funds. Looking at the last 25 feedback I've received as a seller, nearly half of them mention they were happy about the packaging. That makes packaging the number one thing being specifically mentioned in my feedback---higher than shipping time, descriptions, communication, etc.
Great vid Lonnie, always love the tips. Used one yesterday at a garage sale. I found a box with about 200 pieces of silverware, mostly Oneida, for $20. This was at a hoarders house. She had a garage stacked to the ceiling with mostly crap. Already found some decent lots of 6 or more matching pcs. so I'll definitely make a profit. But more importantly I'm learning by looking up each item. Keep you posted.
Hi Agree with packing. Customers appreciate well packed items. I would rather pay postage when buying then received damaged items - happens too often. Would love to search with 'no free shipping' sometimes.

Bottom Shelf Storage: in my mid 60s now, so have to agree about getting down and back up. I like to use my bottom shelves for those less often accessed items, like bundles of shipping boxes. Getting old isn’t for wimps!

I had a bad experience using newspaper one time. I sent a box of books to The Netherlands to a repeat customer, and I used newspaper to pack them. After she got them, she messaged me that some of the books had black marks on them from the newspaper. I refunded her the number of books affected and I didn't use newspaper to pack books after that.
I have something listed right now at $99. Last solds are between 90 and 108. They offered 35, so i offered 5% off, because thats the least ebay would let me. Havent heard anything back yet in 3 days.

A few videos back I believe Candice mentioned that she occasionally watches smaller YT channels about reselling. Not sure if you’re familiar with Grams and Pops Vintage but it’s a great channel worth checking out. (one long cut along the roll making mulitpe sheets) You could lay them flat, like the paper car floor mats you had months back. I use the peanuts for electronics only. I pack until i think customer will think i went overboard. then I add one more layer.
Not questioning your experience as I don’t know what type of electronics you sell. I’ve personally found that heavier items tend to compress the peanuts. Thus creating enough space to allow the unit to move around and cause damage. I’m talking about heavier stuff like vintage receivers, etc.
@@Antiqueexcavator yes i agree, i don't use for filler, just a small layer to reduce impact. I stuff tight and everything gets the shake test.

All my bottom shelves are drawers😊 made by yourself truly, from reconditioned file cabinets, which I’ve picked up by the bunch, for free, from an Attorney’s office, which was going out of business (imagine that!😅). It just had to be out of there in 5 hours or less… Penske rental to the rescue! Friendly advice: ever running into such a deal, rent something with a hydraulic gate/lift in the back of the van!

I had a person.That sent a lowball offer just recently. I replied with the amount I would offer anyone. I did it 3 times on the third they bought it. It was a good item and I got a very good price for it. They paid received it and left good feedback. As far as paper to wrap with. I have a lady on What Not. That uses wrapping paper a lot. She buys at estate sales and gets alot of it and it's light weight. I just got 6 free rolls. I might try it.
The more expensive brands of wrapping paper are probably thick enough. Just make sure the non printed side is not touching your product.

The spark plugs where one big bulk buy at a garage sale. Reel are rare but we've picked them up at Estate sales and yard sales.
I HATE packing peanuts. Sorry. I will never use them. They get everywhere 🤣🤣
