Probably where most of the stuff happened. Western front in comparison is a boring theatre. They never really competed against each others and german where outnumbered and pretty much done in 2-3 weeks during the big week. They simply had no resources, no numbers and no strategies, that e.g. allowed a focke fighting against a mustang. They had to shoot the bombers and the bf109s competed and mostly were outclassed being a chassis, that was a decade old by that time :)

Also combat fly simulators genre went near extinct in the west years ago meanwhile was keep alive in Russia. And Caucasus add more variety (mountains, sea, plains...) than other regions of Russia.

@@derptank3308 In a nutshell, gaijin is probably absolutely inaccurate in most things they do :) This has nothing to do with simulating combat...same with the tank combat...which usually not happened and not have many scenarios, where german tanks fight like they did back in the day. The maps are way to small for that usually.
Man, your flight is so smooth, it looks like auto-pilot lol. My flights in the 111 (especially with large payloads) are always rocky, bumpy affairs. Like a roller-coaster lol
Hey guys, what I used to do back in the day when they had no cockpit for the b17 is target with a b25 and get a comrad to drop on my que. Worked awesome.
I think that map is going to have some updates, the Russian ground targets in the south are far larger to takeout in comparison to the German targets, its a little unbalanced currently , (added to fact distance is is much closer for German bombers and the load outs are considerably bigger on the he111 than any Allied bomber. Nice vid that 2500kb bomb is a monster, but 2x1800's are bigger... I think you guys had better teamwork than our Allied team tho (but not much better)... it was a fun match. At start I struggled in mig3 vs bf109 g14/ k14?, thou my only death was being vulched on takeoff, it was great fun. I had better like in tha a20 later on... (I don't have any early access content yet) Pity it was same day the TAW also went live again, (numbers suffered a little)

With a fully manned HE-111 it is a lot more deadly. I have not played IL2 in awhile I think I need to get back into it. It is great in VR but the scale is off a little the front gunner looks like he is 7 foot tall and the rudder pedals seem too far away. I think it is like that because it was made for a 2D screen. Wait I see your icon on the map?
It all depends on different circumstances. From reversals, to trying to outfly the enemy, and my personal last ditch choice is force a snap roll into a flatspin, and exit the area at tree top level. Usually a sudden snaproll will force them to overshoot. And with the flatspin, u drop like a rock. If they didnt see u when u went into the spin, then they will most likely not know what happened to u.
Is there any reason this plane doesn’t carry this bomb centreline? I’ve noticed with some other loads it has them off centre as well, so is it because the hardpoint is already there, or is the plane naturally off centre with it’s centre of gravity?

@@lachieclements6859 it's mostly because they weren't standardized to do single load drops A bomber carrying a single big bomb was in general less effective in actual combat compared to a bomber carrying smaller multiple bombs

The aircraft is actually capable of carrying the 2500 and a small load of internals but wouldn't be able to drop the internals with the bomb center mounted. Also the bomb is almost the size of the fuselage of 190, with the bomb bay and gunners position bulge if it was center mounted the bomb would drag on the ground during taxi.
Anyone else think the high gloss paint doesn’t really look right for a plane, especially a warplane, it’s as reflective as the glass, like it’s been overdone, they need to put a proper roughness map on it
A really fast Intel processor, at least i5. Try for an i7, especially for DCS. I have an i5 6600k and it leaves just a little something to be desired. I wish I had bought the i7. Don't get me wrong, I get 60 FPS on almost ultra settings, but processor is something you wanna go big on if you can because they are more difficult to upgrade than graphics cards.

Why do people keep attacking bombers by sitting on their tails, when they have MGs covering the rear quarter? You zoom through with a single burst, pull up and come back without exposing yourself or you come in flat on the side where there are fewer guns and use deflection shooting, pulling up and away before you get to the target aircraft so he can't use his dorsal and ventral guns.
What's up with all these games doing semi-censored swastikas? I'm definitely not agreeing with the third reich stance, fascism in general, or using swastikas in the modern age, but seeing as this is history, semi-censoring it seems... Silly at best, and somewhat damaging at worst. I mean, are we going to erase the memories of the atrocities, remove insignia coupled to that, and further distance ourselves from discussing the issues with these ideas? Realistically, I don't think we're at risk of forgetting the horrors of 1930's to 1940's Germany, but we are by doing this making the swastika a lot less focused on as a sign of these views. The risk being that "It's just a swastika, there's nothing wrong with wearing it"... Which is acceptable with in an eastern asian setting where it doesn't represent the same things, but it's unacceptable in the west. Let the asshole flag fly. Let's discuss it instead of looking away.
There are certain countries in Europe where the swastika is completely banned, no exceptions. In order to sell this game in those countries, it had to be removed. America is not the only place on Earth.

That's because the planes are not illegal, the symbol is illegal's outside of selected "artistic" uses in most of the major flight sim markets around the world. Oh and video games/flight sims are not defined as an art form in pretty much any country. This isn't really a dev decision. They use their own interpretation or they do not sell their product, If you feel strongly about it complain to the national governments of those places that have banned the symbol thus preventing its use. You can start with almost every country in Europe.

Look at the mountings, there are two hardpoints for munitions (bombs) that are part of the plane, there is no centerline bomb mount, that is why.

An I7 or better is best. Also, a decent graphics card. I have a 3 year old I7 5820 and a GTX 980 and it works just fine.
Can you do coop career in a bomber or similar airplane? I.e. 1 person pilot and other coop person is bombardier or gunner in same plane?
Sorry for the slow reply, technically yes but you need a hosted server to run the co-op missions. The MP around co-op needs some serious work.
