On today’s episode of A Word, Jason Johnson is joined by legal analyst Elie Mystal of The Nation. They review the Court’s most important decisions, and talk about the political implications and the potential fall out for ordinary Americans.

"The Court has taken significant, simultaneous steps to restrict the power of Congress, the administrative state, the states, and the lower federal courts. And it has done so using a variety of (often contradictory) interpretative methodologies. The common denominator across multiple opinions in the last two years is that they concentrate power in one place: the Supreme Court."Mark Lemley. Harvard article the Imperial SCOTUS

And another thing: if a pregnant woman dies as a result of bleeding out when she seeks reproductive care thanks to this stupid EMTALA ruling, can her husband or family sue the Court for practicing medicine without a license since the Court was the one to come up with the ruling?
