Alright is a song about hope. The Bible talks about the importance of faith, hope and love in our lives. And hope can sometimes be the one we skip over. But hope is vital to the human heart. Hopeless situations often feel like the darkest. But as followers of Jesus, we live with a real promise of hope, beyond this short life on earth. Jesus promised he would return, he would make all things new, he would wipe every tear from our eyes. He would put an end to sin and suffering once and for all. This song was inspired by Isaiah 60: “For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you”. Even in the middle of the darkest times, hope breaks in. “It’s gonna be alright” is not an empty phrase or just a nice thing to say. It’s the tangible hope of people who know how the story ends.

This kinda describes the increasing shalom that got to me slowly after beginning my metastatic breast cancer treatment back in September 2020. Went through the ups and downs people know about chemo.. now they give me pills but I never truly knew to act or look like a cancer patient at all. Call me a walking miracle. It's hard to grasp, even for people who try to be protective about me. I died to self, I'm guessing the Lord Jesus took most of the matter in His hands, if not all of it. Would love to pursue His dreams now... even tho the world looks what it seems right now. As long as I can walk, talk, run, breathe, jump, I'd like to live for Him, serve Him, talk about Him, tell Him how I love Him.
