    I outsource payroll to a 3rd party payroll provider. Less expensive than QB or ADP or Paychex. I pay for the payroll directly and just mark up the fee in my monthly charge to the client. Great video Morgan!

      Nothing about setting up a payroll service seems that hard I want to set one up. (I did this as an exercise in college for computer science real straight forward stuff.)

    I have my first client and do their payroll. They have Quickbooks Desktop but have the payroll service. Seems to work, but I’ve only run it once by myself!

    Thank you for sharing your most recent video about Payroll. I do have that skill in doing payroll manually, such as calculating the net pay. However, I would like to hear more about Gusto, the payroll company you were talking about in the video. Although I have that skill, I also would like to know how to do it on computer. Right now, I have no computer of my own; but, I would like to learn about it. If you have any information about it, please let me know. I would more than appreciate it.

    I do payroll and QuickBooks desktop almost every day. To me it’s easy but I will say you either get it or you don’t.

    Manual you just need to have a datasheet copy for every week I would say. It will stack like a million miles depending how a decent accountant wants to run a company the hard way. A Good data sheet to start the basics and calculate all taxes to be withheld and now I would focus on the company liability to pay the tax withheld. It's a simple process to me. Always think you or the company don't want to get accused of stealing the Government's money held in trust. So, the process should end up getting taxes withheld in the company liabilities, get the Government funds ready and available to deposit to the treasury. That process can be done with a good maybe CPA, tax relief accountant, more so than a bookkeeper. But I just think if someone is mailing in a check with the 941's they would be a different type of animal in the process of the systems in place now

      The only payroll I do is unfiled tax relief. I will have to work all 12-20 quarter of unfiled taxes in a fast span of time and believe me the manual way would be the tax relief method

    Paychex will map to QB. Just send them a copy of your Chart of Accounts and they’ll map it and generate a GL report with each payroll run.

    I can not seem to hear what I am looking for. I too am a bookkeeper, it's been a while. To find out how much is owed for taxes (Fica,Medicare, etc) , you take gross amount and "*" it by what the irs/state percentage is? I am correct. Thank you for your help.

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  Год назад

      I'm not quite sure how to answer... medicare is calculated and taken out with the payroll company. The percentages are for income taxes on your owner's draw distributions (as an LLC or Scorp).

    Do I need to open an LLC to do my husband bookkeeping? 🤔 or whats is the best way to do my husband new business bookkeeping?

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  Год назад +1

      Hi Silvia! You do not need a separate LLC to do your husbands bookkeeping. Your husband will hire you as an employee under his business and you can work for him to do the bookkeeping. If you plan to take on additional bookkeeping clients, you will want to have a separate business/LLC for your bookkeeping business.

    is it worth it to get certified in QuickBooks payroll? What will I be able to do with this cert?

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  Год назад

      Hey! Yes, it can be beneficial if you plan to offer payroll services to your clients. Having the certification shows your clients that you have learned about payroll process and have knowledge in this area.
