    I feel like I could listen to Kostya's game analysis for hours and never get bored. Thanks for the instructive videos and good luck in the tournament! :)

    Not a lot of people would make a forty minute public review of their game they just lost to a lower rated player. I don't think I'd be calm enough for it. You really model the study habits you recommend quite well.

    Hey Kostya!I've just had a really bad opponent where I lost to 3 ~1700 players(I'm 2070).It got me really motivated to play chess and I've just found your channel and it's really helpful!I've picked up classic books for the first time and I feel like I'm finally on the right track.Thanks!

    Didn’t know how much I missed you until the last round notification popped up. Great to have your analytical skills back on YT, Kostya!
    Edit: BTW, don’t know if you’re aware, but there’s an inexplicable private video in this playlist. It’s triggering my OCD!

    23:20 Another difference compared to the Magnus game: in Magnus' game, White's Queen is distracted on the Queenside; in this game, White's Queen is happy to keep an eye on the defence. So even if Black's Queen were to come into play, the defence would be stronger.
    (Obviously I don't mean to kick a guy when he's down with this comment, just pointing out another perspective/heuristic.)

    1 - hard luck ,
    2 - did you have some tactics before the game or not ?
    3 - did you have a good sleep before the game ?
    4 - did you play training games before the tournament ?
    best luck for the rest games

    Hey i know caleb i have his discord

  • @fidetrainer
    @fidetrainer 3 года назад +3

    We’ve all been there, done that, where the position’s zeitgeist, or shall we say gestalt, favors the weaker player, at least in the sense that it allows too little/ too slow counterplay and the occasional Grischuk terrorism, with many variations Petering out to a draw. By the way, the term “weaker player” should not be applied to up and coming players that are working on their game, they could easily be bringing GM level prep and freshness to the table. The Q is, if he indeed is weak(er), was this too tame a Sicilian from black? Especially considering you knew he would play the g3 lines that are somewhat foolproof.

      I was expecting more aggressive stuff with Nb3, but should have checked this line too. Oh well!

    11:00 when I followed the game stockfish had e5 as the best move. I think you're being too hard on it

    • @IMKostyaKavutskiy
      @IMKostyaKavutskiy  3 года назад +1

      Oh, perhaps I wasn't clear. My idea with Nc5+e5 was flawed. Objectively Bf6 was much more solid. Once I play Nc5, then e5 is the natural follow-up, but the whole idea was no good :)
