- Laguna Governor Jeorge "E.R." Ejercito Estregan led the formal opening of the Palarong Pambansa 2014 in the Province of Laguna at the Laguna Sports Complex.
The Palarong Pambansa is the biggest annual sports event competed by athletes from 17 regions of the country facilitated by DepEd and its partner agency Philippine Sports Commission.
