A very interesting story ! Because the Germans were so cruel to the Russian people during the early years of the war, women, as well as men, were highly motivated to get revenge. On the ground, a lot of snipers were women.
It's incredible how the challenging circumstances during the early years of the war motivated people, including women, to take on roles like snipers. The resilience and determination of individuals in the face of adversity is always worth acknowledging. War brings out the best & worse in people. Greed and lust for power, wealth, and control, will keep it going for years to come. Thanks for posting this piece of history.
"Definitely, war brings out both the best and worst in people. Your insight about the ongoing cycle fueled by greed and power is spot on. Thanks for appreciating this slice of history!
"For sure! You're so right-these women are beyond amazing! A movie about the Night Witches would be epic! Imagine seeing their bravery and awesomeness on the big screen. Totally rooting for a movie to happen about these incredible pilots! 🎥🌟"
ruclips.net/video/MFK9wAOatGE/видео.html this is a whole melodramatic series based on the Night Witches, its in Russian but captions are pretty accurate. hope you enjoy it as much as i did!
My mother was a WASP pilot during WW2. Mainly flew fighters but had time in almost every aircraft the AAF had. She lived to 103 yrs old. Until the day she passed, she never forgave the US government for not letting American women fly in combat. The WASP pilots are not even mentioned in the official history of WW2.
Wow, your mother sounds like an incredible and skilled pilot! It's astonishing how she had such a wide experience flying various aircraft during WWII as a WASP pilot. It's truly unfortunate and unfair that these remarkable women weren't recognized for their efforts, especially considering their dedication and capabilities. They paved the way for female pilots, yet their contributions remain largely unnoticed in official history. Your mother's story and the WASP pilots' courage deserve more acknowledgment and respect. Thank you for sharing her inspiring legacy with us. ✈️👩✈️🌟
Because a society that lets women fight is a society that is declining. the social problems men get following combat is bad enough. The Soviets were fighting a defensive war of survival. all the social niceties go out the window.

Absolutely, and their courage and sacrifice have left a lasting impact on history. It's inspiring to reflect on the contributions of these brave women who dedicated themselves to their countries during challenging times. 👩✈️✈️
There were quite a few female pilots in both the British snd US armed forces including Rosamund Everard Steenkamp from South Africa. She was employed for delivering planes and as a test pilot.
"Absolutely, the contributions of female pilots in various armed forces often go unnoticed. Rosamund Everard Steenkamp's role as a test pilot and in delivering planes is impressive! It's incredible to learn about these lesser-known but equally remarkable women who played crucial roles during those times. Their stories add a fascinating layer to the history of aviation and deserve more recognition. Thanks for shedding light on Rosamund Everard Steenkamp's achievements!" We might have to cover that story in the future!
To be given a fierce combat name by friends is propaganda. To be given one by your enemies…means your group is terrifying. Hence e Nachthexe and Teufelhunden. For Russias fearless women pilots and the USMC, respectively. Both bestowed by the Germans. In combat. Interesting.
They're on World War 2 our shores were guarded by our women. We did not have enough men pilots to fly the fighters. To protect our sports, so we trained female fighter pilots to protect us from the Germans. They get no credit whatsoever now
Totally! It's crazy how these female pilots like the Night Witches stepped up when there weren't enough male pilots. It's a shame they don't get the credit they deserve for defending our shores during WWII.! ✈️🌟

In 1981 a film was made about these female pilots "Night Witches in the Sky". You can watch this full film on RUclips.
I wasn't aware of this film! Thanks for sharing.
Somebody got to make a movie about these women they are incredible❤

Problem is it will probably be Hollywood with American actresses
@@jacktattisI’m sure Russian actresses could apply!
@@winifredherman4214 Yes there are a couple of East Europeans over there.

They are in the RAF annals
@@UnusualHistory2How lucky you were to have such an amazing mom! I wish she had written a book. Girls need heroes like her!

Hanna Reitsch, Luftwaffe test pilot, flew V1 pulse jets.
Goatwhore did a song about them, "Death from Above" I believe is the title.

My mother was a WASP pilot. No American women were allowed to fly any kind of combat mission during WW2. They were only ferry pilots.
It would be nice to produce a movie to hounor them. Unfortunately Hollywood is only interested in superficial grab.
Interesting, I wonder who Hollywood would cast?
What wonderful women
Respect the Night Witches but October 1945?
They officially disbanded and were a unit until October 1945 . However their last mission was in May 1945. Thanks for watching.
@@UnusualHistory2 That's what I thought but was not sure. Thanks for clarifying.
