Alvas Market Free Shopping Spree

As part of their tenth anniversary celebration, the grocery store in downtown Alva, OK encouraged citizens to register for a free two minute shopping spree in their store. The winner was Sallye Davidson who raced to collect $228.79 worth of groceries in her two minutes.

I was confused by this shopping spree. It seemed like she was limited in how many items she was allowed to put in her basket. The lady in the store kept referencing that she had "4." So she could only choose 4 meats. This was unusual to other shopping sprees I have seen. I thought she did a great job getting what she could in 2 minutes given that she was restricted in how many items of certain things she could get. This looks easier than it is! It is a lot of hard work to race under pressure and a lot of times the carts are very difficult to maneuver, especially if they are heavy. I don't think anyone should be restricted to only 4 meats on a shopping spree. If the store needs to place a limit on meats -- then they should do 10. 4 is so little. Also it seemed when they said meat -- they likely meant beef.
