Hi KK. I appreciate the straight to the point short format of your videos. No 10 minutes about the story of your life or some dream you had 15 years ago about drink packages. Just "hey here's the title, lets get into it, Thanks."

The problem with the drink package is that 1, most people would not drink enough to make it worth the cost if every day was a sea day and 2, not every day is a sea day. When you're in port exploring the area you'll still be paying for any drinks.
Personally, I am more of a frozen cappuccino person. I may drink 1 or two alcoholic beverages per day but more likely I won't drink more than 4 over the entire course of the cruise.
I prefer Carnival and they don't have a coffee and shakes package yet so I'll likely do the bubbles package and load up the onboard cash account with enough to cover whatever else I expect to get plus some for the casino. ;)
For people who drink religiously though I can see the $90/day for the cheers package being a good deal. ;)

And sometimes with sales, you can get the drink package for a decent rate. I've paid as little as $25 per day on another cruise line. I could have drank that much in waters on a daily basis! But keep up with the pricing, don't forget to add in things like waters and sodas and calculate a few dollars into the math when it comes to the freedom it gives you.
      Thanks for commenting!

Yep I'm one of those guys who agonises over this question each time we cruise. I totally agree with your sentiment. These days if the break even point is even 2 or 3 drinks beyond what we expect to drink we go with the drinks package anyway for the very reasons that you outline.

I used to do the same! But then I went on a cruise where I didn't have it. Any my attitude was totally different.

@@CruisingwithKK-y8h I am a fan of the more classic cruises. I do not like the evolution of cruising and the way it is heading. Two of my favorite cruises was the original Carnival Celebration in 1987 and the Star Princess in 1995.

    I'm a non-drinker so I don't need math either. But I like your attitude.

That's an easy one for you! But maybe the refreshment package if you're interested in sodas, virgin drinks, etc. But I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment! What's been your favorite cruise?

You nailed it near the end of your video. If you have to think about whether or not you should buy the drink package then you should buy the drink package. I know for myself that the ends don't justify the means.

@@user-qy9bg3en1t Thanks! If you're debating it, you're close enough to the break even point where the experience of having it will outweigh the possibility that you come up spending just short of the break even price. Try new drinks, don't like one, toss it out and try something new! Thanks for watching!

I Texas the package doesn’t start till the next morning, do they charge you for embarkation day? How about the day of disembarkation, when you’re not on the ship long enough to use it?

    • @CruisingwithKK-y8h
      @CruisingwithKK-y8h  7 дней назад +1

They do charge for embarkation day. You can use it basically from about 11am till the end of the night. You are NOT charged for disembarkation day.

If you are an alcoholic, get the drink package, or get some of those bags that you can sneak in.

“If you’re an alcoholic?” Well, that’s one of the dumbest statements I’ve read today. The drink package is NOT just alcohol. People seem to forget that.

This is probably the best response to that question we see everyday on the FB pages!
