  • Myself and Candice visited the Isle Of Sheppey on the Kent coast for the first time, in search of Warden Point Battery and my mate Andy's wild camp clifftop spot, near Leysdown. We found both.
I later found out that there is a lot more to see on the island regarding history, such as bunkers, pillboxes, forts and abbeys. A couple of return trips then should do it! Sheppey, I'll be back!

Fascinating piece of our coastal history. The remaining structures' current position really demonstrates the extent of the erosion. Nice work. I must visit there one day (if I can find it !).

A relative of mine used to own the house that stood on the top of the hill above the beach. A room on the top floor of the house had been reinforced to take heavy observation equipment, as you say for observing shipping during the second world war. I visited the house several times as a kid and still have some photos. It was a shock to me to see it has gone now due to the erosion.

I live right next to the caravan park above the cliffs, and lived here for 16 years now and there was even a small post office right next to the bunkers but no clue where it has gone and haven't been down there in roughly 2/3 years

    Another nice video Tom .
I'm afraid the sea will never be tamed .
Taking our History in it path .
If you protect one part the coast , it will move and erode another part .
Always look forward to your next video .

Shame they hadn't thought to protect the cliffs properly, thanks Tom, it looks a nice spot for a Bivvy camp. ATB.

I remember when these were still halfway down the slope, one with its back broken. That would have been in the late '70s or very early '80s.
