PIENZA, The pearl of Tuscany among the hills of Val d'Orcia, Italy Aerial Drone 4K

Pienza is located in Tuscany, in the Val d'Orcia valley, close to Siena. The popularity of the place is not only due to the inclusion of the historic centre in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Tourists come here in increasing numbers also because of the excellent pecorino cheese and the beautiful Renaissance architecture.
Until 1462 in the place of today's Pienza there was a relatively small town of Corsignano. It was the birthplace of the future Pope Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini, later Pius II. After Pius II took office, he decided to rebuild his hometown according to a design by Bernardo Rossellino.
In the middle of the historical centre there is one main street, Corso Rossellino (02:07), which is closed to motor traffic. Narrow side streets diverge from it in places.
In Corso Rossellino are also located the most important monuments of the city and the main square - Piazza Pio II (02:17). In the main square is the 15th century cathedral - Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta (01:16), Palazzo Piccolomini and Palazzo Borgia (02:22), which currently houses a museum.
Not far from Pienza, there is an unusual piece of dirt road that is surrounded by characteristic cypress trees. The road is so picturesque that its charm was decided to use, among others, the famous film "Gladiator" - hence the name of this unusual road. Enjoy Italy Aerial Drone 4K

Pienza położona jest w Toskanii, w dolinie Val d'Orcia, niedaleko Sieny. Do 1462 roku w miejscu dzisiejszej Pienzy znajdowało się stosunkowo niewielkie miasteczko Corsignano. Było to miejsce narodzin przyszłego papieża Eneasza Sylwiusza Piccolominiego, późniejszego Piusa II. Po objęciu urzędu Pius II postanowił odbudować swoje rodzinne miasto według projektu Bernardo Rossellino.
W środku historycznego centrum znajduje się jedna główna ulica, Corso Rossellino (02:07), która jest zamknięta dla ruchu samochodowego. Gdzieniegdzie odchodzą od niej wąskie boczne uliczki.
Przy Corso Rossellino znajdują się również najważniejsze zabytki miasta oraz główny plac - Piazza Pio II (02:17). Na głównym placu znajduje się XV-wieczna katedra - Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta (01:16), Palazzo Piccolomini oraz Palazzo Borgia (02:22), w którym obecnie mieści się muzeum.
Niedaleko od Pienzy znajduje się niezwykły kawałek polnej drogi, którą otaczają charakterystyczne cyprysy. Droga jest tak malownicza, że jej urok postanowił wykorzystać m.in. słynny film "Gladiator" - stąd nazwa tej niezwykłej drogi. Ciesz się Włochami z powietrza z drona 4K
