बहुत बढ़िया व्याख्या की गई है। मैंने हीरामंडी की कहानी कुलदीप अविनाश भंडारी की कहानी में हीराबाई का जिक्र पढ़ा था । बाकी भारत में कई फिल्मकार पाकिस्तानी प्रेमी हैं। वे हकीकत से बहुत दूर की बातें करते हैं। वे पाकिस्तानी जेहनियत को अनदेखा करते हैं। इसी कारण आम भारतीय आज बॉलीवुड की पिक्चरों को देखना पसंद नही करता। रह गई गोरा साहब के द्वारा इस कार्यक्रम तो उन्होंने इसे बड़े ही संतुलित तरीके से प्रस्तुत किया है।

Tahir Sahib.... you have aptly and frankly said that artists or performers do not understand the hard realities of politics and public. As per a Pew Research Survey, about 75% Indians view Pakistanis negatively.... similar negative sentiments exist on Pakistan side towards Indians (for average Pakistanis "Indian" means "Hindu"). This should not be so, but it is true. One is surprised when many Pak as well as Indian RUclipsrs and others say that there is lot of love between people of two countries ... even after unimaginable massacre of 1947 and many wars and continuing terror attacks. Pakistani elite has created a bogey of Hindus-Muslims civilizational clash (i.e. two-nation theory) ... but now Pakistanis are puzzled to see India having better relations with muslim countries than Pakistan- which shows that serious problem is not Hindu vs Muslims - rather it is Hindustani vs Pakistani. 🙏

Although I have not seen this movie but the portrayal of this is surely exceptional and incredible too . Very few people know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is from Jain religion and belongs to Rajsthan, considered to be great state of Our country which is rich in artistic and cultural heritage of our great country too.

It was one of the stupidest shows that I ever saw. Imagine a show about courtesans of that era, and none of the actresses actually know classical dancing of any sort. And let us be clear, showing repeated top shots of girls in skirts twirling round and round is not exactly classical kathak dancing.

@SandhyaRai-np1iq Yeah, nice try. You are trying to tell me that a period piece made on the dancing girls does not need to use actresses who actually know the ABC of that dancing. You must be the assistant to Mister Bhansali. L o l. If you really want to see worthwhile cinematic pieces on dancing characters, watch Amrapali, Guide Umrao Jaan ( with Rekha), and pakeezah.
Amrapali had Vaijayanthimala, who is literally an entire university of dancing in herself.
Guide has waheeda Rehman, an accomplished classical dancer.
Umrao and Pakeezah had Rekha and Meena, respectively, Both were not trained classical dancers but practiced their steps for the movie to the point that they were able to wing it . Even then, meena used a body double - padma Khanna in the climax, dancing sequence because she could not carry out those steps meticulously while Padma was an actual dancer. Also, she was quite sick at that time.
Apart from dancing, the acting of the younger lead actress is laughable at best. For the first two episodes, I kept thinking she was doing the role of a blind girl because she kept staring into the space with a blank expression on her face 😄. And speaking of historical accuracy, somebody should tell this esteemed director that the indian flag at that time did not have ashok Chakra in the center. At that time, if I remember correctly from my history books, it was gandhi's charkha, aka spinning wheel that was in the middle white strip.
Also, it would have been nice if the lovely director who is supposedly also the music director for this stupidity came up with some lyrics of his own, rather than plagiarizing background thumris from movies like pakeezah... Case in point... "Najariya ki maari, Mari meri guiyaan...". The only saving grace of the series was the acting by the two senior lead actresses... Manisha and Sonakshi. Sonakshi was truly the surprise strong element of the series? Because I had not expected this level of performance from her. Barring that and some few nicely placed dialogues, the series was pathetic at best.
Next time you want to defend stupid directors showing stupidities in cinematic pieces of art with regards to classical dancing or historical facts, it would be better to probably do some research. 😄. Have a lovely day.
