I like the size of the HX stomp but the extra buttons and extra 4th snapshot in the HX Stomp XL were my deciding factor. It allowed me to no longer need a midi controller for my current setup (although you do have less functionality without an external midi box like the MorningStar IO / PirateMIDI units). Great tones in the video! Definitely a fan of Junior's work with the JET Pedals as well!
Thank you! Great to hear you’re acquiring gear to suit your needs (instead of buying a solution to find a problem, which is what some people do when they buy the top of the line controllers and realise they don’t need them).
I've been curious about how people set their pedal sequence with the HX stomp and noticed that there doesnt seem to be an issue with noise? Does the HX stomp built in noise gate clean the signal well? Like, if I run a whammy into a compressor then into and overdrive and into the HX stomp input. I tend to use single coils and P90s at fairly high gain.
Yes there’s a noise gate at the HX Stomp input. I find it much cleaner to run the guitar directly into the input then load all effects in the FX loop. Your signal chain will also work, but the input noise gate will be much more prominently heard and felt to tame a noisier signal.
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Thank you for your reply! I see! Would you say that running an analog overdrive via input or the fx loop adds a more natural sounding character to the tone?
I really like them! Very different vibe from the usual P&W flavour (cough *STRYMON* cough), which is still inspiring. Their delays and reverbs still sound great when mono-summed!
Hi! Yes that’s possible. Each preset triggers a PC message (visible on the HX Stomp screen at the preset selection, not on the editor), which can be annoying when the Plethora switches to a board that you didn’t intend to switch to!
Thank you. This video and your updated video on this board inspired me to build a pedalboard similar to this one with a Kernom Ridge overdrive.
That's a really cool drive! Are you going to use the Stomp as a MIDI controller for the Kernom?
That's the plan.
Nice!
I loved the Nigel reference! That took me back a few years! Well done!
Haha, when he finally said how much the black Duo Jet was...yes, I hated him. "God bless eBay" indeed!
Retro Reel is my favorite! So good.
Secret sauce to tone for days 😎
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar exactly!! Makes it sound like a true record!

Great tone! Thanks for inspiring
Thanks! I’m glad to be part of that journey of inspiration!
Can’t go wrong with a Duke into a Timmy great sounding overdrives!
Why hadn’t I discovered them earlier?!
I have an silver hx stomp xl that I love, would love to build my own pedal board one day using it🤩
Silver! That’s a really cool colour, I wish Yamaha had given me a choice!
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar apparently from what I hear the sliver is limited edition and exclusive to Europe
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I just so happened to pickup the last box at guitar center, opened it and it surprised me

Nice. Kitchen & dining space works. ;-) How do you like the effects in the Plethora 5, being familiar w/HX sounding effects?

Love your new digs Justin!
does the soul press controll the volume of the multi fx also?
Yes, because I’ve routed it in front of the Plethora X5 for the wah.
Hi can u can patches on the HX and also change boards on the TC usin the midi? Can u do a video of this if possiable Caribbean viewer here

0:31 How to explain to your wife that you really need more pedals
Because we let them buy the same bag in different colours!
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar You have a point!
