Ten years later she traveled back with Vishal Batra, Vikram's twin to Kargil. For him it was his first visit. She also traveled back with two other soldiers whom she had met at the war front as a young reporter

During the peak of WW-II my grandfather served in the Assam Regiment and had its Baptisms of fire and retired as a Lance Naik… co-incidentally my daddy served in the 1st Naga however attained his martyrdom during the Kargil..
Today I am proudly serving under the Indian military keeping the family legacy alive.. I believe my sons and the grandchildren would be able to carry on the torch.

On the surface of this earth, war is the most dangerous thing.yet since ages and times immortal, states and people have gone for it, some willingly and others by force of circumstanes. War is a poisonous and venomous damsel which exacts its price out of the players involved in it. death be not be proud , though some have called the so. Through manifestation of personal bravery AND GALLANTRY, soldiers mock and laugh at yee. And over to the bravest of the brave, and gallantry personified, his quotes as revealed by his twin vishal are worth reproducing quote the day a person joins the army, his name is written on the bullet,and THAT BULLET will always find him under ALL situations whatsoever. By the way,who is a martyr. A soldier who faces immediate MOMENT of death while pitted against the enemy is a Marty's.all THOSE PERSONNEL who participated in the kargil conflict were a clutch of warriors in a real sense of the word.the army authoities are well advised to preserve these videos for the posterity AND COMING generations TO VIEW. The way she covered the kargil clash is remarkable and BEYOND DESCRIPTION. Revered barkha dutt produced a battalion of women journalist after 1999. Gallantry, thy name and nomenclature IS DESTINY. And lastly, wars are not designed but destined. And like obedient school boys , soldiers simply sign on the dotted lines. and raw courage is like a raw chilled bear.only HE WHO drinks it can have the feel OF it. And the tribute to a fallen soldier is to remember HIM HONESTLY, with true feelings of body,mind heart and soul. William shakespeare sonnet ON remembrance says it all. thank you barkha dutt for exposing indian army positions to pakistan in 1999, single handedly putting indian army at risk of death, Batra lacks the courage to say what Indian army been saying for 20 years
ok so then communication minister pramod mahajan and army chief was not intelligent enough to predict this they themselves has given the permission to record (read it carefully i used the term record not live broadcast ).if batra lacks courage and you have then please supply with detail information of the post and officers may have given in writing where they would have surely objected this we have enough advocate to do the job done and if you dont then its simply shouting

There was Captain Manoj Pandey much more braver than Captain Batra. He was never documented perhaps he & his family were not that Elitist like that of Batra. Also yogendra Yadav. Both fought & won more decisive battles than Captain Batra. Batra was overhyped.

Both are PVC awardees. Just because there is no movie made dedicatedly made on his life, doesn't mean he isn't popular. Maybe you aren't following the correct news or books. Also, bravery isn't quantified, there are no set parameters. Even civilians, police are brave in their own way. Don't look at it from the point of view of only being in face of enemy. Ofcourse, there is evident danger to life in the other case. Bravery is a mental state, going ahead knowing what lies ahead.
You can't compare the bravery of these war heroes. It doesn't yield anything but disrespect to the martyrs. Salute to all the jawans of Kargil war and Jai Hind!
