  • In 1821, the commander of the Spanish forces in colonial Mexico switched sides and joined the cause for Mexican independence. Thousands of other Spanish royalists soldiers joined him in supporting separating from Spain. Under Iturbide's leadership, a joint army which included former Spanish royalists and long-standing Mexican independence rebel fighters took control of Mexico City on September 21, 1821, forever ending Spanish control over the country. Several of Mexico's early presidents were former royalists solders.

I've never posted anti-Spanish stuff on this channel. I don't know what you're talking about. Most of my ancestry is European.

Mexico…IS Spanish. It was named by the Spanish, and it was invented by the Spanish. I am Mexican myself.

The Aztecs/Mexica created the origins of the word Mexico. Yes, our origins are quite Spanish, but also quite Indigenous. Much of the elite had ancestors from both groups very early on. At independence Mexico was created by Criollos and Mestizos.

@@EuropeanSeparatists Incorrect. The Aztecs were perfectly capable of creating an empire, and the Maya had city states just like the Romans. Supposed competency from Spaniards has nothing to do with it. Why did Spain’s empire fall apart if the Spaniards were so competent? Genuine question

@@Duquedecastro lmao, the aztecs and mayans were a stone-age civilization. You clearly don’t know history, ask your mom to teach you. The Spanish Empire was never defeated, it collapsed like every other empire has and will. Spain frll apart after hundreds of years of world domination due to the political atmosphere in Europe at the time and because of funded independist movements around the world. But clearly that is beyond your scope of understanding, little kid.
