prepare for a snarky cat in the cat that saved books. i listened to the audiobook early 2023, i believe. enjoyed the fairytale-esque story, but thought it felt slightly detached. not sure i’m remembering correctly.
i also recently got the third cassandra clare and holly jackson. a good girl’s guide arrived quite banged up, the second one slightly banged up, and, surprise!, the third one was actually in perfect condition. 🤭
i read an ebook sneak peek of the spellshop that was available before release and wouldn’t have minded continuing when the sample ended. the book is residing on my wishlist now.😅
as i’m plagued by one helluva cold (my insincerest thanks to the people creating the new trend of coughing open-mouthed on the stuffy, overcrowded trains and packed escalators 🤬), my weekend is spent in bed feeling miserable. but, i’ve managed to finish the not-for-me book the lost story and today started with middle of the night by riley sager, to which i’m absolutely glued. love it so far (not quite halfway in)!

I have heard nothing but good things about Kala since buying it. Makes me excited to get to it.

I have also just had some books delivered, and one has a rip going through the back cover and a few pages, and the rest of the pages have a big crease going through them. 😩 It's so disappointing to get them, and they are damaged.

@@cuddysbookshelf thank you for your kind words!! 🥰 i was feeling slightly better today, enough to take a just-in-case test, it turned positive within three minutes. 🙄 my first ever positive test. (omitting the c word as i don’t know whether spelling it out, still results in deletion of comments). so, i guess i get to drag this around with me for a few more days. so not needed. and, while i’m excellent at being lazy, i’m utter crap at resting. so.. i’m turning into a cranky toddler. 🤭 too exhausted to do anything, too restless to sleep. ay caramba.
oh noooooo!!! that damage sounds absolutely terrible!! mine at least were only dented. but rips and tears 😱 😱😱 i hope you’ll receive a replacement in perfect condition soon! 🤞

just finished middle of the night and loved it - from start to finish. absolute page turner, not as frantic as the only one left, though. and a bit emotional towards the end.

As soon as it comes out in paperback I will be buying middle of the night. I am yet to read the only one left but do have it on my wish list so I will get to it one day 😂
