I would echo entirely all the comments made in terms of praise for the song and the performance. The use of the word sophomore on worse days would have had me running for the vomitorium. The use of such words in connection with Irish folk music displays a subservient attitude to the reviewers in foreign lands who have taken to using it.
Dazzling. I wept even before I knew what the words meant. Thank you for this beautiful creation. Sometimes it is confusing to have a sudden emotional catharsis on a hill in Ireland when a moment ago you were absent-mindedly looking at your phone in Toronto. 💙🙏🏼💙
Níl aon easpa orm De bharr gur thug tú dom An méid a thug tú dom B’shin a bfhuil agam Níl aon amhras orm De bharr go ndúirt tú liom An méid a dúirt tú liom Nuair a dúirt tú liom Níl aon eagla orm De theasca gur sheas tú liom Nuair a sheas tú liom B’shin a bfhuil ionam I am not without Because you gave to me All that you gave to me It is what I have I am not in doubt Because you said to me What you said to me When you said to me I am not afraid Because you stood with me When you stood with me It is what I have within
Ronan is - in my eyes - one of the mast charismatic musicians of the celtic music scene. He's always able to create a smile on my face - just being he himself, doing the things he's loving. This video moved my heart to tears when whatching, couldn't say why in the first moment. Now I know: he's a musical shaman. Thanks to Mufutau, who helped me to see or feel Ronan's mother's ghost, anywhere there in the air. Thanks to You, Myles, for creating this floating background to transport the message. It's not only art, it's more... Niko, from Germany
Really beautiful song and video Myles.. For some reason this production whisked me away to 20 years ago, when I was a kiddo, bright and hopeful at heart, listening to Martyn Bennett's Grit for the first time. A deep calling. Lovely.
This incredible video appeared on my suggested page yesterday and since then I've watched it several times. It made me cry in the best way - ancestral lineages of the poet, the musician, the bird, living on right now in these beautiful people. Thrilled to say I'd not heard of Ronan or Myles and now have two amazing artists whose life's work so far I have the absolute pleasure of experiencing. Slowly making my way through all of your songs, albums and videos. Thank you for your art, and thank you for sharing. I deeply needed it.
Ah here , that so lovely to read ... i'm delighted to hear that you're checking our other stuff out ...... yes , we are all busy in our creating but it gets extra special for me when we get to combine .... 🎶🙏
Timeless words and melody inspire flight like graceful movements in a timeless place. The ancestral spirit creates wings then the bird appears, the thrush... A message from nature's circle of stone and life meets Rónán's heartfelt words, powerful yet gentle prayer. The wild bird sings with the song. Níl aon easpa orm. Go hálainn ar fad.
There is something deep, beautiful and full of meaning about this song. It resonates strongly with me, and I'm sure with many other wonderful souls too. 😉
Best thing Ronan's ever done. Sounds like his feelings were running high on the second round - I bet many of us felt for him and what the words 'It is what I have wihin' mean for him as his voice cracks
I found something that has pleasantly surprised me again. Seeing those two together is wholesome, I can't even remember the last time I actually cared to watch video content, apart from Jeff Quitney's content, who was kindly removed from both RUclips, and now even Vimeo…
Such a beautiful video and powerful song! It reminded me of old sacred prayers and this connection with mother earth. Thank you for sharing this creation! Love it.
That floored me three times around. I had to sit down. There's deep feelings and truths drawn out of me today because of your honest and beautiful expressions. Powerful. Coinnigh í lasta 🔥
I love this Ronan and Miles ! My dad Patrick showed this to me and I love it ! I'm not the best at Gaeilge but I can see that you are ! Well done and all the best.
I've never been to this part of the world. I can't pronounce your name or understand the words of the song. But I loved it. Myles, I absolutely love your videos! Keep creating. Charlie from Oklahoma
Do yourself a massive favour...save up some money and make a trip to Ireland. I went for a week back in 2019 and it was the best gift I have ever given myself. The only downside was I had to come back "home" and have spent each day since longing to be back there.
Yes i get it it ......not my language at all but it fuckin grooves ....It was so good meeting you guys in Edinburgh ,some of my best memories are jammimg with Ronan and Martin in Edinburgh and Sligo ..this is exceptional though wow
I had the honour to be fed by your lovely mother back in Sandymount in 95 when you lads stepped in to save my bacon and gave an incredible performance at Brunch n Bop for Bosnia where you stole the show and transported us all. I will never forget the warmth of your family dinner table held by your amazing mother. She nutured everyone and extended the most generous welcome. A rare gem. May you continue to honour her with your beautiful music.
Thar a bheith draíochta ... íomhánna cumhachtacha tríd ... ómós iontach do mháthair Rónáin. Ag súil go mór le cluas a thabhairt le héisteacht don Albam atá ordaithe agam cheana
The penny just dropped. The video is homage to Ronan's mother, Cliodhna Cussen, mentioned at 0:25, and her chain of forebears before that

Currently listening to this sitting on top of the Sugarloaf Mountain, Wicklow
Nice spot , for a sit .....

Níl aon easpa orm
De bharr gur thug tú dom
An méid a thug tú dom
B’shin a bfhuil agam
Níl aon amhras orm
De bharr go ndúirt tú liom
An méid a dúirt tú liom
Nuair a dúirt tú liom
Níl aon eagla orm
De theasca gur sheas tú liom
Nuair a sheas tú liom
B’shin a bfhuil ionam
I am not without
Because you gave to me
All that you gave to me
It is what I have
I am not in doubt
Because you said to me
What you said to me
When you said to me
I am not afraid
Because you stood with me
When you stood with me
It is what I have within

I think this is a profoundly beautiful song. The music, the vocals. Ive just read the translation and wow. Just lovely.

So,what was the outcome in the end,Did it rain..
Rained all day! Every 30 minutes. We waited for gaps in the clouds. Huddled under an umbrella, sharing a bottle of holy water ;)
😂😂
