My main problem with youth only saves is that youth intake is completely dependent on luck. No matter how good your youth intake or facilities are, if you are out of luck, you aren't gonna get a wonderkid like Sefa anytime soon.

Also in my opinion you are pretty skilled in that field, I really haven't played much of FM compared to other people (I have barely over 5000h), but I feel that one surpasses level of understanding the tactics on one's own pretty early into FM, that's why I love listening to people talking about tactics.

You were wrong about the development of the first good youth player you got. Keeping players in the senior team and making them available for youth teams severely hinders their development. It's because of multiple reasons. The player misses training the day the main team plays, the day the reserve/youth team plays, the day after the main team plays (recovery session) and potentially another day if the youth team plays two matches that week. So the player misses 4 days of training. For players under 18, training is the most important pathway to development, the moment they turn 18, the game time becomes more important than training. This is hard coded in the game and you can experiment with it yourself if you wish.

Skye Vink and Julian Rijkhoff were 2 superstar strikers in my Ajax save. Sold Rijkhoff for 150 million to Chelsea in my save eventually.
