Keep telling the whole world about these spots and they will end up over crowded like Malibu, and Venice.
Even surf videos, and magazines don't tell people the names of the breaks featured in them, or exactly where they are located, out of respect for the people who surf there.
But selling beer is worth selling out your local breaks, and drawing LA kooks and tourists to these places I guess.

i also live on the central coast but those spots youre talking about in magazines and stuff are much more remote. People are going to find these breaks regardless here in cali its 2020 iphones tell all.

My wife is from California and is planning to move back (from Maui) for a little bit after my daughter graduates HS. Looking for the best places for waves. Ventura sounds like the spot.

I used to be in the Navy and surfed Pt. Mugu and Silver Strand beach during the late 70's and early 80's. The localism was kind of heavy at the Strand. I don't know how it is these days. Oxnard Shores and Port Hueneme were other cool places to surf.
Any veggie burgers at that restaurant? No dead animals for me. Go veggie. It's better for the planet and your health not to mention for the animal.
Rincon is fun point break but gets WAY too crowded. It's really hard to catch a wave and guys end up snaking each other. Too stresfull for me.

If Strand was bad then it's 20x worse now

I don't know if you're ever gonna read this, but strand is actually kind of chill now, at least in comparison to what I'm guessing it was back then. During summer, localism is a lot less bad and I think its really only bad if you're being a kook during winter.

My dad was in the Navy and used to surf by the jet towers for testing and Pt. Mugu lagoon. Never crowded and my friends always wanted go with me. After surfing we would stop at Scoop Deck, fast food on the base. Monster waves.

I first surfed Mondos in 1964 when I was 12.

@@braxtonvillagran2664 Actually, "Mondos" is an excellent longboard/ learners wave. And as you move up the point, the wave gets better and better. We used to call it "Mary's" and "Pitas Point", but now it's called "Faria" to my understanding.

There's no such thing as a Ventura Highway and I haven't seen any alligator lizards in the air either but I did see a thumb go black and a rectangle go grey.
