      By far. Arthur vids have been an amazing help for years now

      I like his APS-C reviews too, however I am baffled as to why, repeatedly, when he compares lenses he say lens A is sharper, yet (regardless of the resolution I am viewing at), lens B in his example shots look sharper to me. Most perplexing. And over time his videos are less and less informative, less carefully scripted for clarity. Used to be a great channel. It's written as if for a person who is advanced as he is, and not for the actual youtube audience. Now I just get frustrated and move on to somebody else on the same topic. Sad to say. I do love his willingness to point out flaws and issues.

    I see your name, I see new video, I see product I'm also interested, I KNOW this is a review/ honest opinion I can trust 👍👍 keep up the good work and don't change my friend! One of the very few YT film/video channels on here who is still honest and not a sell out lol

    I'm curious as to why you blew out your highlights so much in the sample vid.

    Excellent as usual!!! Not a lens I am interested in but a great review nonetheless.

    The Blazar also has the same AF motor sound and AF issues. Interesting, maybe the better choice is manual focus with some kind of focus wheel/knob???

    If you could do a comparison as soon as the Blazer Apex is actually available that would be amazing. I’ve been eying both and will pull the trigger on one of them as soon as they get to Germany some time in 2025. So far I’ve seen some videos on each of the two separately but a side by side would be a lot more helpful.

      Working on this, still waiting on a Blazar to arrive.

    I noticed it and obviously so did a number of others - your highlights seem quite blown out. The ND didn't seem to solve the problem? Maybe S-Cinetone is not suitable here, perhaps S-Log3 instead? All the same many thanks for an interesting and honest appraisal of the lens! 👍

    I would like your opinion. Do you think that you would be better to use the DJI lidar autofocus system with a manual anamorphic lens on? Let's say a Panasonic gh7 with the same log? Or do you think that this option is a better value? And do they make this lens in a micro 4/3 or will they make it in the micro 4/3? I'm curious if you had the gh6 from Panasonic which is doesn't have great autofocus and you put the DJI lidar system on it with an anamorphic lens. Would it perform better than this lens? Would on a Sony with fast autofocus that could be possibly a future video?

    • @ArthurR
      @ArthurR  10 дней назад

      My opinion is yes, this would be a better option. Performance of the DJI LiDAR is solid from what I’ve seen, and you’d have a ton of manual lens choices.

    Sorry if I missed this- you mention f stops while talking about the aperture ring...did you mean T stops? I thought due to the name of the lens and the fact that it is a cinema lens we'd be talking T stops...a minor distinction, I know. Just curious.

    Came to hear about the lens... commenting to ask about the hoodie. Nice themed hoodie. Custom made or a shopping find on the net?

    • @ArthurR
      @ArthurR  10 дней назад +3

      It was a gift from Sony a few years ago. MIssed opportunity making a hoodie-ception where the guy wears the same hoodie who wears the same hoodie until you have to pull out a magnifying glass.

    Another reviewer - no mention of the AF not working if you turn on the de-squeeze in camera. (FX30 option). But hit all the other major points.

    What about using anamorphic lenses for photos¿ Probably quite a niche, but for event photography (tango dancers), I'd like to get that cinematic look. Do current RAW editors have the desqueeze¿

    • @ajgonzalez5109
      @ajgonzalez5109 3 дня назад

      Yes, but it's a manual process, there is no "desqueeze button".

    • @angelsjoker8190
      @angelsjoker8190 3 дня назад +1

      @ajgonzalez5109 Ah, I thought maybe they have it included in their "lens correction".

    • @ajgonzalez5109
      @ajgonzalez5109 3 дня назад

      @ Now that anamorphic lenses are starting to become more accessible to the masses, I think LrC might get a dedicated feature at some point in the future (even if that's what the "aspect" slider is for).
      Photoshop has a few features that could serve that purpose as well but again, none is labeled as "desqueeze".

    4:51 wait. Did you squeeze/unsqueeze the image? You need to spell this out for people who've never used anamorphics. 6:14 Super35 what? You're assuming the viewer knows everything you do, which erodes the value of your videos. These cameras are APS-C, so is my A6000, so what's this "Super35" you mention? 6:30 You say "use something with"...what what are you trying to say? "Something" is the vaguest of pronouns. Are you talking about a hardware sensor cropping mode in-camera? Or some software? You don't bother to explain any of it. Your channel continues to get less informative, more frustrating; hence my complaint. I'm not following how cropping out imagery results in quality loss since you still have discrete pixels captured, but discard the side data. 7:53 sounds like you say exsqueeze/desqueeze. Whatever are you even talking about? I do appreciate you letting us know that this is a bit of an anamorphic/spherical hybrid but would have liked a more in depth explanation. Also appreciate the caveats about noise and lack of stops on the focus rungs.
