    It's like scratching a fly bite. Makes another area hurt temporarily so you don't notice the original pain as much.

      It really depends what the issue is. There are some very specific back issues where chiropractors can help (at least, there's some evidence indicating as such), but even then, massage and physical therapy can usually help in those areas and theres more evidence supporting that. The vast majority of what some chiropractors claim to be able to help is nonsense. It all stems from its origins, Daniel David Palmer, who was a fucking nut.

    the vast majority of chiropracters are basically unlicensed physical therapists following pseudoscience. theyre also almost all deeply conservative and actively fight against actual medicine, which saw the bulk of anti-vax action in the medical industry being perpetrated by chiropractor advocacy groups

    If chiropractors worked you wouldnt have to come back for the rest of your life. Actual physical therapists will teach you methods and exercises you can do on your own, so you can fix your problems permanently. (As long as you do the exercises)

      Instead, they're like "okay we're gonna need to do adjustments every day for a month. And then every other day for a month, and then you're just gonna have to keep coming back and giving me money"

    Just wanna clarify the difference between a doctor that helps in bone/spine issues versus the nuttzo stuff you see online.
    If your back is bothering you, by all means please seek a professional youre comfortable with. Even basic physical therapy tips rom someone who knows what to do can be a lifechanger.

    Humans have back problems because our spinal column is not fully adapted to being vertical. A quadrapedal animal wouldn't have this issue anyway, right?

  • @TeamSprocket

    A lot of people are not moving, stretching, and exercising as often as they should, which leads to various aches and pains. Chiropractic gets the joints moving which can help temporarily relieve pain, but it's not a treatment, and it's not scientific. If you or a loved one is experiencing aches and pains, they should go to physical therapy, which helps people not just relieve pain short term, but also helps get people moving so the issues that caused the pain stay manageable.

    There's a much gentler style of chiropractic that doesn't have manual cracking but instead uses a vibrating tool and a table that can drop levels to help align your spine and reduce pressure on certain nerves and muscles. I'm a massage apprentice so been exploring different alternate healthcare options. Normally wouldn't post something like this here of all places but I like to get the info out that yes chiropractic Tiktok is absolutely corrupt and leads to misinfo and the practice doesn't have to look like that!

    • @williampounds5191
      @williampounds5191 24 дня назад

      Doesn't matter how gentle it is. It's all nonsense. The entire practice was started by an absolute charlatan that didn't know anything about shit.

      YES! When I hear "chiropractor", I think of this, my mom used to go to one after she had my little brother. One day I was curious, and they let me get on the table and they walked me through the process (I was like five at the time). I had so much fun that I insisted on following my mom to her appointments after that, and I always asked if I could go on the "fun table".

      The problem people have with chiropractic is that it's pseudoscience. Chiropractors claim a bunch of health benefits that simply haven't been proven to exist, and a significant percentage of the population believe them because they think that "chiropractor" just means "spine doctor" when in reality chiropractors are not doctors.
      Even if a few of their techniques can provide temporary pain relief, calling all of it "chiropractic" just serves to legitimize the quacks.

    • @IkeyCaptain
      @IkeyCaptain 24 дня назад

      Nah sorry, chiropractics is a pseudoscience with no actual medical backing.

    • @siphillis
      @siphillis 24 дня назад +12

      That's a more reasonable expectation of therapy. Chiropractics often claim to offer life-altering services that verge on psuedoscience, and it's taking advantage of very vulnerable people instead of providing actual alleviating care like you're describing here

    My spine was curved as a child, meaning my foot pointed inward and my heels outward.
    Having a chiropractor fixed that, meaning that I could run again without looking like a doofus.
    TL;DR: Yes, it can absolutely help
