The "love bomber" starts pulling away when they notice that the victim has fallen in love. The victim is now left confused as to what happened, and this can cause cognitive dissonance. A narcissist will usually use this to their advantage and make the person believe they did something wrong and have them "work" for it to be like it used to be, ie have control over the relationship... Think of the movie Enough which stars Jennifer Lopez. He uses his money and power over her head and showers her with gifts after any of his abusive wrong doings. @@ApoetsPoet I never said loveboming only affect women. I just used women as an example since the conversation on the pod involved a woman’s point of view as an example. Lovebombing and manipulation can occur in both genders. Now respectfully fuck off. 😌
Mel is basically saying that most of the guys that love bomb initially turn out to be abusive or crazy. However, if you love bomb and don't turn out to be toxic or anything related, then its not considered love bombing. In my opinion.
Love bombing is when you do all those things at first to get them deeply invested in the relationship then stopping it and tricking them into thinking the giving person is really you when it’s not
To be clear. Love bombing is a tactic used by manipulative and controlling people. Its a way to bait someone. The end result is always some form of abuse (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual or financial). In general, it is difficult to know whether anything you experienced with a narcissist is real or not. It’s difficult to know whether they were ever being genuine, or whether it was always just a game. That’s part of what makes it so traumatizing.
You have to make yourself believe it wasn’t real, because it never is with a narc or abusive person. Not genuine in any way, always for gain. Don’t traumatize yourself, just accept it and move on.
She could've actually doubled down. His usual argument would be that if it's not proven in court then the victim isn't a victim and deserves nothing. Mel just let's things go without pressing the issue. Probably because she's just there to collect the check and doesn't care enough to set the puers straight.
@@BaldwinFanonGarveyTureShakurX Don't get me wrong in some situations I feel she can double down more but also Joe gets to turning on the elevator music when they get to talking in circles so I get why she doesn't too...With the lovebombing topic, she could've doubled down more because she actually had a point
She really should have saved it, or framed it better. I feel like what she really believes is that the burden of proof for Ish to believe that someone is a victim and therefore deserves financial compensation is so high that many actual victims would be excluded. And is conflating that with “He wouldn’t support victims getting financial compensation”
Love bombing is real. I agree with Melissa. What she's trying to say is some men who have negative hidden motives for the soul purpose to JUST manipulate, control and be abusive, they will love bomb you at first, to present themselves as this great guy. I feel like the men on the panel only hear that there's a problem with men being nice at the beginning of the relationship. They're not highlighting that love bombing pertains to men who are only there to be abusive. The difference is whether a man is being genuine or whether one is only love bombing just to have complete control of a woman. I hear you Mel, I hope this made sense.
I think the main difference between love bombing and courting /dating is the complete disregard for boundaries or intentional, pushing of boundaries. Wanting to text, talk to someone on the phone , go on dates, give gifts here and there and spend time together taking into account each other’s schedules etc is understandable. Where as with love bombing the person who is the love bomber wants to text you throughout the day , talk to you on phone all the time , lavish you with money or very expensive gifts and wants to spend all their time with you without regard to your schedule whatsoever . The love bomber gets upset when you decline and there’s no room for compromise, or any sort of life outside of this person you’re supposed to always be available for them in any way they want you to be it is hard for women to see the difference between this and what is called applying pressure/ showing interest because they can be similar. And women don’t want to be seen as standoffish or playing hard to get when in this type of situation, so they may be receptive to it, and as it escalates that’s when the woman has to make the decision, whether or not to stand up for themselves and assert their boundaries or stop talking to that person altogether. Oftentimes the love bomber will ghost or go find an easier target once they realize the person has boundaries and is sticking to them.
This 🎯 is one of the better explanations on here. It’s the breach of boundaries with the objective to make the person fall in love (quickly), lower their wall so they can penetrate, violate, then discard/abuse. The victim will be left confused, try to vie for affection they once felt while love bombed. Abuser will love bomb again to draw the victim back in and trigger the loop again. They will usually keep doing this cycle as long as it works. It’s a counterfeit way to draw their victim in.
I understood what Mel was saying about Love bombing. It's simply manipulation. You make the person feel very important to win their graces and treat them like shit after. We're all familiar with it.
1:22:10 Mel is doing a terrible job explaining Love bombing. Love Bombing doesn't always pertain to the courtship phase. An example of Love Bombing can be when the person is on some toxic BS. They cheat, hit you, curse you out, whatever.. then Shower you with love, gifts, and affection to try and convince you that is the real them. The key word is Manipulation. How to identify it? I'd focus on patterns of behavior. Impossible to tell when you're just getting to know someone.
Somebody please tell Mel "I'm too smart for my own damn good" Ford that the Flu is not prescribed or treated with the use of antibiotics...girl please 🙄

@@delialouis3973exactly the guys are trying to keep it player but if you read between the lines and a lot of their conversation they also like to be romantics. And the most common form of love bombing is when a guy knows he's not going to commit to a woman but also appeals to her romantically by taking her on dates or things like that. I say the guys on the pdt are trying to keep it player because at least once a guy will pour his everything into a woman just to get the 🐱.
Mel was cooking when she was talking about Love bombing. Shordie is the only one on here that consistently brings facts and gets hated on for making too much sense. Very wild.
@@hasan3step570 I cant answer that. I think she is strong and capable. But, I would love to see how you would do in a room of 4 other people that have a groupthink mentality and you’re divergent. I’d love to see how well you land your points when constantly being questioned, talked over, and seemingly dismissed.
The love bomb conversation was frustrating. I was waiting for Mel to actually make the definition make sense…maybe all the over taking was confusing her and causing her to give a confusing definition? Idk. But love bombing put simply, is when a person- man or woman, INTENTIONALLY plays on your insecurities by constantly (and usually very early on in a relationship) tells you they “love you” and uses their “love” for you as a reason for you to forgive their mistakes and wrong actions. They hit you “but I love you so much, you’re the only person in the world for me”. They stalk you “I’m only popping up on you because I love you so much”. A person that love bombs is usually, eventually abusive, and possessive. And early on in their relationship, they use “love” as a reason to isolate you from others so they can have more control. After a week, they want you to move in. After two dates, they wanna fly you out somewhere to take you on a vacation. Just too much, way too soon. A love bomber is usually hella obsessive, very early in. And to a more healed person, this is a turn off so it doesn’t work as well. But a love bomber intentionally preys on a person that hasn’t experienced “love”, or is very insecure, so they’re more likely to fall for it. It’s all about the intent, a person that’s love bombing DOES NOT actually love you. They are only doing these things for the purpose of manipulating a partner. That’s it. It’s not that difficult of a concept to understand lol.
Right! I didn’t understand why their conversation was so all over the place. Mel didn’t do well to explain and then for her to say that love bombing can’t be applied to Cassie and Diddy situation just goes to show that she really didn’t what she was talking about. They were all over the place for something that’s not difficult to understand.
Thank you! I felt the same way listening to her explain it, and honestly, it’s evident to me that whenever she’s put on the hot seat, she struggles. Most of the time, she’s echoing others’ points if she’s not being antagonized by the men. I want to shake her and let her know she got this, she can hold her own as long as she doesn’t get distracted. She could learn from Ish and Joe on this, ‘cause they’re excellent conversationalists when it comes to staying on track and keeping the discourse going.
You don't know what the other persons intent was. A lot of girls just throw this term around so loosely because their relationship didn't work out. At some point there needs to be some accountability on the girls if you're falling for that type of behavior.
You can tell Ish is so fcking annoyed with Mel. When she first got there, it was all good. I bet you anything he wouldn't touch her if she wanted to smash!

OOOOOR, Maybe they just lost their job or decided to stop doing it reasonably.
@@GDSprodify😂😂 is this anecdotal
I think it starts with that but another component is when they try to use the way they treated you as an excuse when they start doing fuck shit.
@@GDSprodifythat’s not love bombing then fool. 😂😂😂
Thank you they make everything personal😂 “2 things can be true”
Mel dirty as hell for saying she was expecting Ish to be against sexually abused women being able to get their justice

"Overworked and underpaid" sub? 😅
1:10:15 Ish explained that very well. Mel could've kept the idea that Ish would think otherwise to herself.

GREAT SHOW! I LOVE FLIP & HIS POINT OF VIEW AND REALNESS
He barley be saying shit 😂
Ice really found his voice. He's the 2023 JBP MVP 🏆
What does a car say before it blows up? Puff 💨🤣🤣
Lmaoooooooo wtf 😂😂😂
Video been up for literally 1 minute and I'm already here 😂😂😂😂

"Shut up, you've been "love bombed"" Was hilarious! 🤣
ICE on Point on This Pod, more positive more happy… we Need more of this, Salute fam

Somebody please tell Mel "I'm too smart for my own damn good" Ford that the Flu is not prescribed or treated with the use of antibiotics...girl please 🙄
Actually u can take a zpak which is azithromycin when sick
A bacteria 🦠 and a virus are different. Typically, you have to wait it out with a virus. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections mostly.
My son just brought it home from daycare and it seems worse than the flu , we had this heavy cough with mucus for weeks our doctor said it was the flu but then it went away and then came back harder and the symptoms totally change from flu like to stomach virus 🦠 when we went back we had to get in nebulizers and a steroid the antibiotics did absolutely NOTHING idn what’s going around but it don’t seem like the common flu be safe out there❤

Facts, its a term a therapist gotta explain to them, its not a everyday laymen’s term

doesnt matter if Mel is right ,their goal is to dismiss whatever take she has . i dont know how she keeps her cool lol
Of course she is..they just get triggered bcs they think the term attacks them, ignoring that there a men who the term actually applies too 🙄🤷🏽♀️
@@delialouis3973exactly the guys are trying to keep it player but if you read between the lines and a lot of their conversation they also like to be romantics.
And the most common form of love bombing is when a guy knows he's not going to commit to a woman but also appeals to her romantically by taking her on dates or things like that.
I say the guys on the pdt are trying to keep it player because at least once a guy will pour his everything into a woman just to get the 🐱.

I am so TIRED of Mel not being able to explain herself..She is so smart but when asked to elaborate she just never lands
NEVER, it’s frustrating. Like she folds under the bright lights or something as pertains to conversation
How would she be able to explain herself on a pod full of men that pick apart everything she says?
@@krisv1991 so why is she there if she cant hang. i thought she was strong and capable
It really is frustrating. It really really is.
@@hasan3step570 I cant answer that. I think she is strong and capable. But, I would love to see how you would do in a room of 4 other people that have a groupthink mentality and you’re divergent. I’d love to see how well you land your points when constantly being questioned, talked over, and seemingly dismissed.
The parks laugh at 2:06 is insane!
Remember when Martin asked Tommy to explain to Pam and Gina what love is? Tommy's explanation=love bombing.
Right! I didn’t understand why their conversation was so all over the place. Mel didn’t do well to explain and then for her to say that love bombing can’t be applied to Cassie and Diddy situation just goes to show that she really didn’t what she was talking about. They were all over the place for something that’s not difficult to understand.
Thank you for this. But Joe understands it. He has done this. The rest of them are not trying to understand it at all. 😢
