The toilets are clean and placed close to the Jewish area so they can wash their hands. Toilets are hard to find at Rookwood and harder if you’re walking. Great informative video again thank you.

This has to be the coolest cemetery you have shown! And this is the third part! If I heard correctly in part one you said it has its own zip code? Then it has to be the biggest in Australia! We have big ones in the states here. But I don't think they compare to this. Hello from Ohio.

I have visited Rookwood from a very young age as alot of my family are buried there it always fascinated me a my aunt would take me to various parts of the sections of the cemetery where different relatives where buried or cremated . My favourite part what I remember is one of the older over grown part where a couple of my relatives died at a young ages were buried years before I was born .

Hi Kylie , thankyou so much for watching Rookwood is an amazing cemetery , you might be thinking of the old Anglican section near St michaeks the archangel Church

@@cemeteriesdownunder9247 I believe you could be right I remember my Great grandmother is buried there plus other great uncles and cousins who were buried there long before I was born . I have relatives all over Rookwood my Grand mother and pop , 2 uncles and a aunty are all buried next to each other in a older grave section and then there is a couple more uncles have who have plaques in one of the walled sections . My Aunty used to visit frequently and my sister and I would take turns going with her it was a long day trudging around to different sections helping my aunty clean and tidy the graves and putting fresh flowers on them. I had just mentioned to my ex the other day how I would love to go down ( I live on the Central coast ) and visit I haven't been there in years and I hope I can find where my nan and pops grave is I remember seeing the Russian orthodox section from their grave in the distance so that might be of some clue I hope otherwise it will be like finding a needle in a hay stack as I have no other relatives I can ask . Thanks for your reply ☺️

@@cemeteriesdownunder9247 I was proud to keep it clean and lawns tidy with a team of workers. My parents had their first kiss there and had lunch daily through their work breaks. I teased my dad about it but after working there i see the beauty of this Garden Cemetery. They said it was very near to full capacity some years ago.

I wanted to get married there but Rookwood refused saying it was a place meant for obvious purposes only . you must know a freind of mine who has been a caretaker there for over 30 years . do you have any spooky tales to tell me

@@cemeteriesdownunder9247 I worked for the Catholic Office and the lovely manager passed away only a few years back. I only had the one with ‘Dracula wannabe’ i mentioned in part 4. Otherwise I worked through the day but i know night time ain’t no time to be that neighbourhood! I often peered into broken brick holes in the crypts and almost wanted something to happen. FYI they hired someone in the 70’s i think it was, to clean the old headstones but the process stuffed up the etching and they stopped it thank goodness. People dumping asbestos and rubbish in the cemetery was the angriest i’ve been there. Being in this place is bliss for me as morbid as i sounds.

@@Its_Shaun_the_Sheep not morbid at all I am at peace with death , my dad worked in the mortuary at concord growing up and I was a palliative nurse so I find the ending just as much normal as birth . some people freak out or look at me strangely when I say I love cemeteries and find the old vaults inside fascinating like a time bomb , and I try to be respectful I know us someone's relative , I have seen weird things and had stuff happen even during the day in cemeteries so I know they are around us in some way . I did a Halloween one in the catholic mausoleum in Rookwood , my mate told me a story about security that have been run out of there by a ghost
