A story about the old shit-fisher by Mr. Lahey
"This old Shitfisher took his bagpipes down to the river and he played his pipes in hopes that the shitfish would rise up out of the water. But not one shitfish rose, Julian. So he took a shitnet and threw it in the river and, lo, soon he drew it forth filled with shitfish. Then he took his bagpipes and then he played them again and all the shitfish jumped up in the shitnet. "Oh, you dance now when I play, said the Shitfisher.' And then the little old shitfish spoke up in the end and he said, when your in a man's power, you must do as he bids you. Shitnets, Julian, and Shitpower."

"The thing with me is that I AM smart and I'm smelf, I'm self-smarted, basically, by myself, basically from nature and smoking drugs and doing different things I've self... s... like self, learned myself. And that's the whole difference, I guess is that I don't need the books or the schooling type things. I just get everything on my own and because of that I'm alive right now. I mean if I had read more books or tried to go on to collage and different things like that I'd be dead right now because people say books and college are for to be make you smarter, but they can also be for to be make you dead, which is what could have happened to me. My brain doesn't use enough oxygen because I don't have the whole thing filled with different stuff and if it was full, it's only part full, and that's why I'm alive right now. The guards are giving me here, you know, "read this book, try to get smarter" but I'm like, alright, I'll pretend to read it but I'm not going to really read it cause my brain will be more full and if I have another heart attack I'm going to die...
I just wanna get out of here now and spend time with Lucy and Trinity and get my family going again. Basically that's all that matters to me. They come to visit me a couple times in jail for the first time ever which is awesome, Lucy seems to be really digging me and looking really good and I just wanna get out of here and see them, exercise a bit, maybe eat better and try to quit smoking. I'm going to quit smoking cigarettes first, and then, you know, work off the dope or whatever eventually, although I don't know."

What? No. If you're innocent, even more reason to only speak through your lawyer. Look, I get it if you feel like, "hey, I'm innocent. They just wanna know what happened. It looks weird if I refuse to speak at all".
But don't do it. Because it's all risk, and zero reward.
Literally there is no such thing as telling them something and then it HELPS later. It doesn't exist. The best case scenario is that they never try to take you to trial. The best way to ensure that is if their case on you is a big fat ZERO. The only way it remains is a zero. Is by using your rights to avoid participating.
You talk to them, it can't go lower then zero, but youre definitely opening yourself to the possibility of raising that zero.
And ya know, probably not. If your truly innocent and they are good cops its not like they are gonna jump an you at any opportunity.
...but they might. And imo, if something has any small chance to ruin my life. And zero percent chance to benefit me..

The beautiful appearance doesn't mean anything. She could very well have been a monster of another kind, threatening him with divorce and to take everything, could have had compromising information about him and was being very manipulative, maybe was spending him into the ground with addictive habits. Both of them may have had a toxic relationship for years, sneaking around behind each other's backs. Maybe she is always demeaning or belittling him, holding things against him and nothing he ever does is good enough.
NONE of that excuses what he did, mind you, and he could very well have had unaddressed psychopathy, or wanted another life and committed a crime of passion that he hadn't thought through.
One of the funniest things we tend to do as humans is look at a picture of a victim (or a criminal) and draw all of our conclusions about that person from a 2-dimensional image. Or we assume we would have handled the situation the criminal was in any differently.

I wonder how much money you have to pay to get an expert to lie under oath during a murder trial. Nobody in their right mind would think this was actually a freak accident after seeing signs of strangulation, defensive wounds, his skin under her fingernails, almost no blood in the car and no glass found on her anywhere. Oh yeah and a video showing no flatbed truck pass by that area on that road that day. The family just doesn't want to believe it. It's amazing what you look past when your mind doesn't want to believe something.

I remember the story very well when it first aired. The possibility of a pipe either being thrown from a truck or falling off a truck going through a windshield, hitting his wife and amazingly taking her life is about as probable as hitting the Lottery. I believe he thought he was very clever to have come up with this story, in the police’s inability in finding the truck would be near to impossible, and the police would be none the wiser. The first piece of evidence that would put a wrench in his story, is that a pipe wouldn’t have struck her more than once. Period. I can’t imagine the horror and terror she experienced knowing that it was her own husband, who was brutally ending her life.

Hubby decided to kill his wife, took her for a drive in the country, faked a car stall breakdown, went ro the trunk, pulled out a metal pipe and proceeded to bash her head in with the pipe and then tried to lie the claim that another vehicle passing down the road somehow interfaced the pipe through the windshield causing her injury. Completely ubsurd. Her injuries were to the side of her head and there was no glass fragments imbedded within her injuries. He had blood spatter all over his clothing and phorensics proved the pipe had rust marks inside the vehicles trunk.

It's evidence that matters... All of it. It's natural to be forgetful or flustered during initial discussion but it's evidence that matters. Injuries, glass, blood spatter, etc
However: mistakes can be made. The moment that cops got him he's drilling him LOOKING for guilt. If you look for guilt enough you can have confirmation bias. He was dropping her off...then planning to get a windshield. It matters a lot about the pipe. However if there's doubt the police have egos too and HATE turning around and saying " hey I really fucked up here!" He reeked of guilt!!!
But the whole case needs to be thoroughly examined. If there's reasonable doubt... And reasonable suspicion of police being too zealous... The "perfect relationship" doesn't exist. The kids being on daddy's side has occurred before, there needs to be excellent evidence to prove guilt. Even DNA under fingernails? How much? Broken nose etc this case bothers me.The narrator saying him being anxious?? Are you kidding?

A man in a van looking all distraught caught up to me flagging me down. We pulled over. Before I can get out of my truck he's at my door and is very excited and trying to explain to me what happened. A piece of 2 1/2" pipe, which was sleeved inside a 3" piece of pipe, worked its way out, hit asphalt just right, shot up in the air and came through his windshield and STUCK in passenger seat. I say this because after seeing that little demonstration the DA put on where they were throwing pipe, nice and parallel to the road and hardly bouncing up, is extremely misleading. • @Rasputin.Bogard
      @Rasputin.Bogard 2 года назад +39

@@SuperNuclearUnicorn That is not what that experiment showed at all. It showed that certain pipes coming off a certain height at a certain speed (both just guesses) in a certain way are unlikely to act in the manner described. I personally saw at least two pipes that could have gone through the windscreen depending on where he was driving. I have also seen pipes flip on the mine I work at at much lower speeds. The word 'literally' actually means something. As in, you literally don't know what the work literal means. A 'bunch of times' is also not a great description of a fair statistical sample size. Unless they performed the test for at least 50 pipes, at a 'bunch' of different speeds, and all those at another 'bunch' of differing heights and all those at a 'bunch' of different fall angles then we certainly do not have scientific certainty. And even then it is possible that a 1:million or greater incident occurred. Anything, my friend, is possible. Just not probable. So we cannot ever say it is impossible.

?? What does the judge have to do with an expert witness testimony being disorganized? This is a witness called by the defense. Unless the prosecution raised a legit objection to any of it, why would the judge intervene in any way? "Expert" testimony is picked by each side to try and bolster their version of what happened. You are right....this was a BAD witness. But it's who his defense chose, and he testified and was able to be questioned by both sides. You do know that any witness is basically another piece to the puzzle that the jury can either believe or totally disregard as being garbage? This witness helped highlight just how inconsistent and impossible Todd's version of what happened compared to the evidence was. That is exactly how a trial plays out....both sides present witnesses to try and prove their case.

I've been married to someone just like Todd and they are phenomenal when it comes to getting everyone else on their side, while treating you like dogshit. And if you are like me and Barb, you hide the misery and mistreatment from everyone around you to protect him and yourself. And because they probably wouldn't believe you due to how "amazing" he is.
He lies as easily as he breathes and only thinks of himself. He had constant issues at work because he couldn't get along with anyone. He was impulsive and blew their money on his great ideas. He let her down, likely repeatedly, to run and help other people so he could continue to look like "such a great guy".
You end up with him going into a rage, probably over her saying she wanted to leave him or saying something that hurt his ego, and he beat her to death. Then he manages to convince everyone around him that it was some freak accident despite all the evidence proving it wasn't. If you are with someone like this, make sure you tell people what's going on. Even if they don't believe you in the moment, at least they will know if something happens 😞

At 10:11 you can see blood next to the hole in the windshield, you can also see how many times he struck the glass with the pipe to make a hole and then for some reason decided to try to punch a hole through the other side of the windshield all after killing his wife …that’s why the blood is on the outside of the windshield.

@@dawnbreaker2912 They got tired of all the copy cats stealing their hard work. A lot of "JCS Inspired" channels just took JCS's videos and presented them as their own. STAYAWAKE does NOT do that...they create their own content, even though some of the cases are the same. Other channels were not like that, they stole JCS's content without credit. So, the JCS team got tired of it, and quit making new videos.

The fact that the windshield has THREE impact holes. Todd, are you implying the rod was like, “hmm, maybe not right here” so it backed out and came back in??
There are scratches on his neck. His DNA under her fingernails. I cannot believe the family supports him. Maybe they can’t bare to think of anything other than his innocence? It’s very sad.

    There’s a few things that I don’t get.
    1) wouldn’t the most common reaction be to try and swerve out of the way, rather than try and catch a steel rod with your hand?
    2) Barbara was hit in the head and neck… How would that work if we went with the accident story? IMO, it would be impossible because a)There was only ONE rod, and it hit the windshield straight on, not sideways. She would have been impaled in one location, not injured in two locations. b) Say Todd did intercept the rod to make it change directions to hit Barbara, sideways; Todd’s hand would be fucked up with more than a few scrapes and bruises.
