I must say, being a car dealer, and viewing a LOT of auto related videos on youtube, this is about the best, most informative video I have ever seen. I just bought a 2010 A5 Premium plus today from a dealer as a trade, and have never driven one. Wanted to see what it was like, and now I know. Again, you are very well informed, and present the car perfectly!!! Well done. (I also bought 2 days ago, a 2004 S-4 with a six speed and a V-8. Couldn't drive that one yet, but man it sounds nasty.)

I'm getting one of these next week, I just test drove it today and it was a very nice ride. Its black on black with the 2.0t 6speed manual with the prestige and s-line packages. I'm very excited.

Got one of these 2011 A5 coupe 2.0t premium plus for $8k at 98k miles after switching from a 2009 BMW 335i M Sport package. I still LOVE how the bmw drove more only because of the heavy steering. The steering is still a bit heavy on this vehicle but not as much. Only downside besides that is the audio is a little bit dated it requires the really old iPhone charger to play your music. I didn’t look into any adapter I just bought a radio frequency Bluetooth player for $20 and it’s good just some static which could be avoided if you bought the actual adapter. Gas is good I only get premium and there’s no issues for this car as long as you keep up with oil changes and stuff. Insurance for me is $210 in the USA not bad since I have a boatload of tickets 😂 just giving anybody who is interested some advice and thinks this is helpful. There is road noise as well because there’s no frame on the windows I presume but if you got a good one of these you shouldn’t have to worry as it’s normal you feel more comfortable than in an E90 bmw 2006-2011 that’s a fact it’s really comfortable just less practical because of 2 doors. Overall I love this car!

Just as a matter of Trivia on this car, the A5 was designed by Walter Da'Silva, an ex-Alfa Romeo designer who also penned the gorgeous AUDI R8. He has been quoted as saying the A5 is one of his favorite designs ever :)

We believe this particular one had an issue with the tires being out of balance which is why the road vibration was high. The suspension is not adjustable on this vehicle.

14 years later still amazing car
bought mine new, drives great. wonderful ergonomics for a 6' 2" guy. 22 mpg around town. 50k miles after 10 years (i commute by train and vacation by plane). HOWEVER, major reliability issues: timing chain tensioner, PCV, turbo wastegate------all fixed at the cost of $4k, but reimbursed $2k from audi because of a class action suite. the current pending issue is weak piston rings, mine are fine and i change the oil yearly. when my rings go and the engine starts to crap out, i will buy a lexus.
personally i would go for an 09 with the 3.2 and 6 speed manual
That A5 looks beautiful ~~ even though this was the first generation, this thing still looks brand new and modern today. I mean if this car came out today, it would still sell well and look really good compared to most cars today.
I've been seeing a lot of reviewers complaining about the scroll wheel direction for these cars. Every potentiometer ever made, turning clockwise means up, and counterclockwise means down. Volume and radio frequency/amplitude controls are the most notable. In my head, when I think of up, I think of clockwise. How this confuses people is itself confusing.
Love that car have 2012 got it a year ago with 2,500 mile in mint condition and still smells new inside
Regarding the direction that you turn the MMI knob....if you look at the screen, do you see the curved line on the left side? That's supposed to mimic the shape of the knob. So if you look at it that way, you'd obviously twist clockwise to go up and counter-clockwise to go down. It amazes me that people don't get that....

what good is a sunroof that only tilts?
i have a 2010 Audi A5 2.T TFSI and the sunroof slides back fully and it tilts up, not sure whats happening here

I wouldn't want it any other way. The 4 cylinder is a turbo motor and it has more low-end torque than the old V6, plus it gets superior fuel economy. It's a win-win all the way around!
I love the 2.0T engine, its probably one of the best motors out there. Also I prefer this A5 to the newer facelifted one. My Uncle had a 3.2 A5 before, but he traded for the TT-RS :D
I test drove an S5 back in January and fell in love with it. Sofyan, you are in for one helluva treat when you test drive one! Let me tell you the V-8 sounds better than you could ever imagine. The salesperson demonstrated how insanely grippy the Quattro system is by taking a sharp turn at 80 MPH. I was nonetheless extremely impressed with it. I REALLY want an S5 someday. The one I drove was silver with a black interior. For me, I want one that is black on red or red on black.

Yeah my dad did had a 2009 Audi A5. But his had the 3.2 V6. But now he has a 2012 Audi A6. And in March of next year his lease will be up on his 2012 Audi A6. So he will get a new car in March of next year. I just have this feeling that it will be a other Audi. his A6 that he drives now that his 3th Audi that he had ever owned!!

The one weird thing that Audi did that I could never figure out was that they removed memory seats from the Premium Plus in the 2010 but they decided to put them back in the Premium Plus in 2011. To me it made no sense.
Depends on if you have the navigation package where the control wheel is located. Navigation package and above = gear shift location, otherwise located on center stack.

Audi has been ranked in the top 5 for reliability for the past 5 or 6 years. Just don't neglect it and it'll last a long time.

i hate they moved the control wheel to the center stack instead of by the gear shifter. when it was by the shifter you could have your arm on the arm rest and control the screen.
the left side of the screen is where the cursor is so the left side of the control should go down when you scroll down

I would just like to say that I appreciate how you point out the soft touch materials as build quality is important to me, and don't get me wrong, Audi make's some of my favorite interiors; however, I think that the a4 and a5 look a bit plasticy in the center without navigation. I really like the black gloss that comes with the upgraded MMI.

The updated version of this car isn't "extensively" updated at all. They really just changed the shape of the headlights and made a slight change to the shape of the grill. The taillights are the same size & shape, but they lost the "white" bar and they light up a bit differently. Other than that, it's basically the same exact car.

Is this a good car for a teen? I’m kinda scared to drive, cause I’m scared of power and the gas. So, I most definitely to don’t want a sports car, but you know a smooth riding manual car. Would this be a good choice? I’m open to any cars that would be for a good price & looks nice, and good for me

How is the ride comfort in the A5? It looks like you were picking up quite a lot of road vibration on what seemed like a smooth road with no potholes or noticeable imperfections. Can you adjust the ride setting for this particular A5?

The car in the video had the 18" wheels & the non-sport suspension, so it rides a bit softer than the A5 with the 19" wheels & sport suspension. My own A5 has the 19"/Sport set-up and it's a great balance between handling & comfort. My old M3 rode very much more harsh in comparison.
I guess because it's kind of dark, but it could focus a little better. Keep up the great work!

I own a 2010 A5 quattro and love it. With studded tires in the winter the car is unstoppable. Well worth it.

The reason they are getting rid of the 2013 S5 with a V8 is because of the Rs5 with the V8 which makes more horsepower than the S5 V8
The 3 series includes a sedan variant, a convertible AND a coupe. Therefore, this and the A4 competes with the 3 series.

But EA888 is so much more fuel-efficient than Merc's V6 while offering similiar, if not better performance. Plus, your CLK must be very nose-heavy with such a massive engine.
Several Audi models have a timing chain tensioner problem that can cause the timing chain to slip and cause catastrophic engine failure leading to engine replacement. My 2010 Audi A5 2.0 TFSI engine failed due to this problem and I had to have a new engine put in. Audi is currently going through a Class Action Lawsuit for this Timing Chain Tensioner problem that they should recall. should be more honest instead of overly glorifying - this car seems to have a rattle which is clearly audible in the video, not sore if its the camera or what?- also no mention of transmission? what kind is it, is it CVT? Audi have discontinued the problematic CVT transmission due to multiple problems and their losing a legal class suit and have gone to the dual clutch transmission which I believe they are now also going to phase out as well in preference for the standard torque converter auto transmission - v6 timing chain is on the rear of the engine - stupid place as the whole engine or transmission or both need to be removed to replace the timing chain as well the typical 4 cylinder has history of timing chain issues - CVT are very costly to maintain something that most reviewers either don't know or don't want you to know especially if they have an interest in selling these cars - CVT oil is expensive and needs to be changed every 50,000 miles - used Audis are expensive to fix - I don't believe this reviewer is very honest

I have a friend that's a representative for a national company he does a lot of driving and traveling and he has a 2010 of these it already has 120k miles lmao and he never had any big problem just your regular maintainance, oil changes, filters, brakes, fluids, tires

Look around.....lots of expensive new cars are coming with 4-cylinder turbo engines these days. It's a sign of the times. Even some new Jags are coming with turbo fours now.

This car is totally reversed and clutterd when it comes to electronics. As you mentioned, radio jog wheel is reversed, steering wheel controls are the worst i ever seen being another set of jog wheels instead of push buttons, so if you want to play next track you have to press on the jog wheel or spin it one click to bring tracklist on gauge cluster display then scroll one click for next track and push wheel again to confirm... 3 operations just to play next track. And i get the idea of ease of navigation within album/folder but whatever you do with steering wheel controls will not be seen on actual main screen but on this small "10-letter per line" gauge cluster display. So if you have a bunch of files catalogued by artist name first then all you can see would be "Depeche M" for all of your 60 depeche mode tracks... Good luck finding a track you are looking for especially while driving. Volume control does not tell you what level it is currently at.

I'll be honest, the Mercury Sable is an awful car, just like the Taurus was of that generation. I personally think it looks nothing like a BMW and the 3.0L V6 delivers adequate power at best and it hooked to a 4AT. Whats your budget bc I will gladly recommend something better :)
