[40 slachtoffers na instorting] Vele hulpdiensten met 'spoed' naar en van rampenoefening Genk Knalt

Zaterdag 23 april werden even na 9 uur politie, ambulance, brandweer en rode kruis groots gealarmeerd voor een mogelijke instorting bij de technische dienst van de stad Genk aan de Wiemesmeerstraat. Zeker 40 mensen zouden gewond geraakt zijn, en enkelen zouden onder het puin bekneld zijn. Dit alles was het scenario van de rampenoefening Genk Knalt, waaraan 300 hulpverleners deelnamen. Naast het provinciaal rampenplan werd ook het noodplan van het Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) hierbij op de proef gesteld. Kort voor 13 uur was de oefening afgerond.
Am Samstag, dem 23. April, kurz nach 9 Uhr, wurden Polizei, Rettungsdienst, Feuerwehr und Rotes Kreuz zu einen möglichen Einsturz bei den Stadtwerken der Stadt Genk in der Wiemesmeerstraat alarmiert. Mindestens 40 Menschen seien verletzt, einige sollen unter Trümmern eingeklemmt sein. All dies war das Szenario der Katastrophenübung Genk Knallt, an der 300 Einsatzkräfte teilnahmen. Neben dem Notfallplan der Provinz wurde auch der Notfallplan des Krankenhauses Ost-Limburg (ZOL) geübt. Die Übung wurde kurz vor 13 Uhr beendet.
On Saturday, April 23, just after 9 o'clock, the police, ambulance, fire department and red cross were informed about a possible buiding collapse at the technical department of the city of Genk on the Wiemesmeerstraat.
