I still remember being so disappointed that the first Mystery Dungeon special wasn’t the start of a new series I’ve would’ve watched the hell out of that. I wish we’ve gotten more of Chronicles I loved the episodes where we got to see what other characters are up to between seasons.

It's too bad we didn't get another season of Chronicles or something similar; I would love to see official English-language releases of all of those special episodes catching up with Ash's friends that were skipped over outside of Japan!

There are actually deleted scenes for The Legend of Thunder including the actual ending where she calls Jimmy on his PokéGear and they start dating soon after. 4Kids didn't do the Pokémon Crystal special justice with how heavily they edited it
I still think we need a seperate series just dedicated to Blossom and her journey with Nidorino. I would love that.
The nidoran line has always been one of my very favorites so it was so cool to see it get a little attention
I remember a lot of these shorts made me cry, and when Jordan started talking about some of them I felt those memory tears welling up again, so that was my experience watching this video.
Fun Fact about path to power, Kiana Khansmith, who directed a couple of episodes does a lot of pokemon fan art and even does a fan comic where Jesse of Team Rocket dates Ash's mom
I remember watching the 1st mistery dungeon special as a kid, and being confused as hell. Now I want a series about it lol.
It's very funny to me how you pointed out the time traveling thing. I think most shows state how time travel is usually a bad thing but Pokemon has done it a few times and it's always been for the better and that's just really funny.
I LOVED The Legend of Thunder growing up.
It reminded me of the Pokemon Adventures Manga, which is the BEST non-game Pokemon media imo.
Jimmy was a really likable protagonist and Typhlosion immediately became my favorite fire-type to this day.
Too bad we didn't get to see him replace Ash for the Johto anime.

@@LittleAl016I mean Pikachu is their mascot at this point. Even Pokemon Horizons couldn’t be its own anime without someone have a badass Pikachu.
You needed an anime to like a pokemon? Most kids picked Typhlosion because it was the coolest and Meganium gave the hardest challenge.

Thank you Jordan for all the pokemon vids this year. I got to sit back and reminisce on a lot of highlights throughout my life as I watched them.
Awesome job! I love Pokemon and it’s spin-offs. It gives me great memories of Kids’ WB! and The WB when they’d show the programming. Keep up the fabulous work and ty again!
One thing that probably worked against Pokemon Chronicles logistically is that having it air in different countries may have been difficult contractually and in terms of scheduling. Now they can release these online and get around that.
As a child i really loved Chronicles, to see what previous recurrent characters were doing while ash travelled Hoenn, it really helped fleshing out the kanto and jhoto extended cast and the pokemon world in general. I was dissapointed when diamond and pearl was comming to a close and there was no indication of a chronicles continuation following what the Hoenn cast was up to during Ash´s journey throught Sinnoh, talked about missed potential.
If I had to guess why it'd be because dp was alot more heavy and story driven with paul so they probbaly didn't want to divert attention from the main anime but idk. I guess just animation budget as chronicles does look great but I think it mainly uses assets from johto/early hoenn
Weird how they changed all the dub names in The Legend of Thunder. Ash battled Vincent in the league but he was named Jackson, when Jimmy and Marina were mentioned they were Yoshi and Dani, and when Ash met Eugene he was Eusine like in the games.

Casey was my biggest crush as a kid. I'm so happy she made a few more appearances in Chronicles.
I cannot wait for Pokémon Conseierge...it feels like a slice of life type...my kind of anime
I just saw part 1 in my recommended today and thought longingly that I want more from Jordan von Fringes in regards to Pokemon. And now 12 hours later here we are bayyyyBEEEE

Pokemon Chronicles was important spinoff, mostly because it explained why Misty has her Gyrados as her main big hitter Water Pokemon especially in that Sun and Moon episode.

Not really. It didn’t matter because either way it worked. Ash and Brock were surprised because things do change when they’re away.
I remember seeing the trailer for concierge pop up on my for you page. I thought it was so cute and I'm going to watch the hell out of it. I absolutely love when Pokemon let's see just the mundane of the Pokemon world. It's also absolutely beautiful
Stop being coward Pokémon company and give us a full Pokémon mystery dungeon anime preferably like sky’s story, that game got some real good tears out of me. Ranger as well would be great. A more mature conquest anime would be awesome.
The pokemon mystery dungeon specials hurt the most. They deserved to be a full series.

I love chronicles! I first watched it on vacation after getting stung by jellyfish at the beach. I wish we got more but I'm glad Raikou got his own special. I will forever resent the mystery dungeon special for saying to be continued at the end and then never doing it
35:45 i am kinda disappointed at the missed opportunity to have the pichu bros learn the lesson of appreciating family and friendship as you never know when somthing might happen and your last interaction could really be the last one.

Thank you so much for publishing this one I really really wanted you cover Pokemon Chronicles cause it's my favorite from tyflosion being his main to the spotlight on riku not to mention the back story for our other heros in the story like Brock misty Tracy etc but yeah anytime I mention the series of Pokemon that was on toonimi and ment for adults nobody knows what I'm talking about. It's a great series and wish Pokemon did things like that more often and more lore

I love the idea that these animations acknowledge that the Pokemon franchise is over 25 years old.
So people that played the games were teenagers at the time of the first release are now in there late 30s and might have kids of their own.
Just remembered about a Kaijudo show, would be cool to see the remind of it on this chanel.

Man, there's so many amazing characters from the video games and for the TV show.
I wish they can do more TV shows about them. I think it would be very good or a great series if they were done more episodes.
To me. I think it's a wasted opportunity. Some of the new Pokémon stuff isn't very good. Sometimes it is sometimes it isn't.
All these spinoffs and side stories just illustrate how much better Pokemon would be if it took itself seriously. Considering the average age of people playing pokemon games and watching the anime you'd think they'd have made a long running more serious series by now. Like adapting the Pokemon Adventures manga or something.

My biggest issue with Chronicles, and especially the Legend of Thunder special, is the incredible hack job 4kids did to it. For the most part, i feel 4kids did a decent job dubbing most of the anime, but the way that special was mangled was comparable to some other non-pokemon anime 4kids rather infamously butchered.

with how badly the games quality has degraded over the years, i'm glad to know that the animation department is still able to flex its muscles and tell interesting little stories in this otherwise under-utilized setting with the newer specials
