    If the plugin is going to create several different versions of each image, is that not going to eat up your server storage?

    That's very nice, but do they have a free plan? Paying for every single plugin for each website is just not practical at all :/

    That rewrite rule button doesn't exist anymore... Do you know how do we do it now?

    Hello Tony, I guess EWWW updated their plugin because there is no WebP tab anymore. Do you know where the button "Insert Rewrite Rules" is located now? I somehow can not find it anymore :(

      @TonyTeachesTech  3 года назад

      Seems like you're right. I still see the "Insert Rewrite Rules" option on the Basic tab of the plugin, but I don't see the Webp tab as you have pointed out. There is a Webp option on the Basic tab though that I see
      UPDATE: you'll need to "Enable Ludicrous Mode" to see the rewrite rules. This is the first option under the Basic tab

    With WordPress 5.8 supporting WebP images do you think it is still worth it to get EWWW to optimize images?

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  3 года назад

      One of the benefits of EWWW is that it'll automatically convert the images for you. Without EWWW you'll have to manually convert images to webp before uploading.

    Thanks for your video! Have you done testing of EWWW vs others like shortpixel?

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  4 года назад

      Not yet. I think they'd be for the most part very comparable aside from pricing and UI. But definitely worth checking out.

    Hey, quick question: What do I have to type in the exclusions box to exclude it from lazy load? There is one image on my first page that becomes blurry, and I would rather that one stay high quality

    Recently moved from Optimole to Shortpixel Adaptive. And satisfied so far. Wasnt happy with the regular shortpixel either.

    Awesome Tony ❤️
    One more question
    How can I setup sever side cache for WordPress in NGINX ?
    Also make sure that when we update new post cache got automatically cleared.

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  4 года назад

      I've never done any server-level caching without a plugin. After much testing of plugins, I've always used W3 Total Cache. I'm sure you've heard of it. For now, it does like 90% of what I need.

    • @MemesOfMirzapur
      @MemesOfMirzapur 4 года назад

      @@TonyTeachesTech I heard about w3 total cache but not used it on NGINX. Right now I am using Simple Cache plugin which is working fine but I want to setup cache manually on server side ( NGINX ). Also I want to become an expert in web server administrator especially in NGINX.
      Do you have any idea where can I learn all these things together in depth?
      BTW I love your content, you are doing amazing work.❤️

    Great video! I do not have option insert rewrite rules to htaccess file, is it beacuse I have Ithemes security plugin installed, how to fix it? I 'm using cloudflare I got this message " Your site is using Cloudflare, please use JS WebP or WebP rewriting" what should I do?

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  3 года назад

      I have not run into this issue yet. Did one of the options work for you? I can't tell if the message is instructing to use another plugin all-together or just suggesting an alternative to inserting rewrite rules. Can you tell?

      Sorry for not mentioning this in the video, but if you are using Nginx, you'll have to modify your config file like it says under the "Rewriting (via map) with Nginx" section docs.ewww.io/article/16-ewww-io-and-webp-images

    Hi Tony, I subscribed to their monthly plan, put in my activation code, and registered my site address, but only have 3 "basic", "support" and "contribute" tabs, where you have 9 tabs. Thanks for your excellent videos and greetings from Brisbane.

    • @TonyTeachesTech
      @TonyTeachesTech  3 года назад +1

      That's so odd that you only have 3 tabs. I don't think it's the case, but perhaps the layout changes with the monthly plan. I'd suggest reaching out to their support. I've dealt with them before and they are very good.
      BTW I was in Australia a few years ago, but never made it up to Brisbane. One day tho!
