I had a Harry Ramsden jumbo haddock that’s true, but I made me own chips, It’s a bit pricey for what it is . Anyways back to your video, absolutely fantastic all-round . ✌🏻🧑🏻🦲✌🏻
Me and the late missus went to Harry Ramsden's in Blackpool in 1995, sat down with a drink and then looked at the menu. Can't remember the exact price but it was way too much, so we supped up and left.
Went too harry ramsdons ooh about 1984 ish in Blackpool with my husband wasn’t cheep but not was the meal delicious also tea served in a teapot not a tea bag dunked in a cup 🙃have a nice day everyone 👍
I never rated Ramsden's when it was just fish and chips decades ago, Keith. Never saw what all the fuss was about, mate. Aldi's extra special jumbo beer battered haddock, their bog standard homefries and cans of mushy peas are cheaper and better, imo. Only saving grace is that chippy tea for three would've been near £30. But if it's not good, it doesn't matter if it's free🤷♂️.
Nat can I ask as I also have a mobility scooter ( pride colt deluxe 2.0 ) how do you find managing the battery charging as I don’t use mine every day so sometimes I forget to charge it how often do you use yours and what distance do you travel? Thanks in advance
Hi laticman I'm always forgetting to charge mine to lol I've had a pride colt before an I loved mine the seat is so comfy I had to have the one I've got now because it's got better suspension In the cold I find the battery drains so quick on mobility scooters I don't go far on mine just to town an shops that's it really when it's fully charged my scooter is meant to do 30 mile 🙂
@@natssupermarketproductreviews thanks for the info yes mine is meant yo do about that but I’m quite heavy so maybe 20 also I live in Oldham and it’s just hills everywhere not ideal. 👍
Hi Kieth n Nat never had it from Iceland we pay a lot more here in the international shops that were Iceland Couldn’t get half of what you got here for 19 pound
Never eaten in one of their chippies, none around here. But I have had HR Iceland cod & the chips. I'd say the cod was fair value compared to size and quality of others. May not compare well to some local chippies of course but it does with the ones ,local to me, which is all i can judge against. TBH if your cost was nearly £20 for two, a tenner each, that's good compared to our local chippies. I think the curry sauce & mushy peas is where any "rip off" occurred, not that I like mushy peas anyway, I've never understood the attraction, but each to their own
Very good. Review of the products . The curry sauce. I though was horrible and the rest was poor yes Keith Better to make your own and stay away from branded names
I think £19 isn’t bad for what you’ve got ; I have had the fish and chips ; and found it to be very nice ;) 👍 would be interesting if you visited a chip shop and bought the same and see how much it cost ;) last year, I bought large fish and chips at Hunstanton by the sea ; and it cost me £17.50 ;) I think for £19 quality and what you get isn’t bad 👍 all the best subscribed to your channel CQ 😎👍🎤🎵🎵🇬🇧
Problem is that a lot of frozen fish and chip products are better than this, eg you can buy some nicer beer battered cod from Aldi for less. These are just made by Iceland and aren't anything like proper fish from the chippy anyway so for that reason I don't think they're worth £19
Better to make your own as it taste better but a lot of people just want convenience Tesco do fish bassa for 3.50 for two slices bag of chips 1.00 and a tins of peas 50 pence comes to a fiver for two fish chips and store cuboard stuff makes your batter 🐝🌈🌈
I only went to a Harry Ramsdens once. They brought me what looked like a children’s portion, I sent it back thinking they’d made a mistake asking for an adult portion. Exactly the same size portion came back. Over priced rip off place, it was nothing special, had far superior at my local chippy, far cheaper.
These are nothing to do with Harry Ramsden other than having the name on the box. None of these products taste like anything they sell, so I'm not really sure what the point is 😂
Harry Ramsdens is now owned by Deep Blue Restaurants after several changes of ownership and is reliant on it's world famous name from it's humble beginnings in an old place in Guiseley which was the best fish and chips in the world, the taste and quality has since deteriorated and franchised business is now reliant on the quality good or bad of each establishment. Does Deep Blue actually make these or are they farmed out to others to produce. I don't like MASHY PEAS I prefer them to be more solid and mushy.
That curry sauce isnt the best, battered sausages are ok apart from the split of the batter, fishcake wasnt bad, not tried the fish think its expensive nothing special HR products
Hi Keith
I tend to stay away from branded products, they are never as good as you make yourself...
Well done and thank you
😎🍽
They're good in the Harry Ramsdens Chippys, but the frozen pre packed are nothing like the the real Harry Ramsdens !
Aldi frozen extra large cod/haddock fillets are amazing 😊
I had a Harry Ramsden jumbo haddock that’s true, but I made me own chips,

gotta be sometimes lmao@@CarlBlandy2024
I think that harry ramsdens was one of the first to open
Went too harry ramsdons ooh about 1984 ish in Blackpool with my husband wasn’t cheep but not was the meal delicious also tea served in a teapot not a tea bag dunked in a cup 🙃have a nice day everyone 👍
We have tried these and we only really liked the battered sausages. Very expensive for what you get.
Great review best fish you could ever have enjoy
The curry sauce powder is lovely with chips. I see you have the curry sauce pits here. I recommend buying the powder version. Much cheaper.
Great honest review Keith. Definitely agree with you 👍🏻👍🏻
100 quids worth then at Iceland prices. The fish is awesome though Keith. Great videos.
Hey Keith and Nat. Have you tried Mother Hubbards chip shop. We’ve got one near us, it’s expensive but it’s nice and the gravy is lovely

I think there talking about the shop how nice it is and not the frozen stuff, I had the ones out the chilled fridge they wasn't to bad
Hi Kieth, great vid. Do harry ramsden chipies still exist anywhere?
Have you tried the Iceland £1 pie range yet?
Hi Kieth n Nat never had it from Iceland we pay a lot more here in the international shops that were Iceland
Couldn’t get half of what you got here for 19 pound
oh wow
Iceland used to be cheap, went to H.R. in Yarmouth once and was very disappointed.
Hi I got Asda delivery Friday morning and got 4 cod fillets for £5.50p and a lot of food beers and whiskey

I love that curry sauce all over the battered sausages and chips
Tbh I’d probably buy the odd bits like the fish cakes but otherwise I’d buy like battered sausage from Morrisons and fish from Aldi
Great review Keith, we definitely agree with you
Chippy is still pretty reasonable tbf, at least one by me is in Wales
I think it's where you are in the country mate.
if you like chip shop curry sauce....you need to get some IRISH curry sauce....it is the best with a small kick to it....
I bought the HR scampi from Iceland. Bloody awful. They hadn't cleaned the digestive tract out. It was like eating grit.
Why not go buy exactly the same at Aldi and compare the two ?
Wow mate maybe couple pound more you could have got a chippy you have to cook them use electricity also lol
Well worth it, you go to the chip shop, will cost about 50 pounds for all that.
I have never been to HR but I heard you say "you should try mine", was that an invite Keith? Tell Nat to get the kettle on. xx
It cost £12 fish chip mussy pea and fury for 1
The packaging cost as much as the food
Very good. Review of the products . The curry sauce. I though was horrible and the rest was poor yes Keith Better to make your own and stay away from branded names

Had the sausage in batter wasn’t keen on it
Chippy chippy chirp chirp, 'twas a song way back in time, smiles. 😊
No, the song was "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep " sung by the group " Middle of the Road " 😊
Get a nob of butter in them mushy peas 👍✅
Better to make your own as it taste better but a lot of people just want convenience Tesco do fish bassa for 3.50 for two slices bag of chips 1.00 and a tins of peas 50 pence comes to a fiver for two fish chips and store cuboard stuff makes your batter 🐝🌈🌈
Bro, did you get out to help the homeless. Just wondering. You and nat done that well
them mushy peas looked like something the cat honked up kieth, i think ramsdens is a bit overated myself
I could easily get 2 cod, chips and peas from the local chippies for £15.
Great review but I'd stay away from Harry Ramsden and nake my own cheaper and tastier 😊
These are nothing to do with Harry Ramsden other than having the name on the box. None of these products taste like anything they sell, so I'm not really sure what the point is 😂
Heart attack waiting to happen.

I think you are paying for the name you cook better x
Deffo not worth the money m8

Very overrated Keith, you could do your on homemade for probably and add a little frozen to it for about £14
That curry sauce is awful, imo!!
Must be a northern thing, never heard anyone rave about Harry Ramsden's frozen stuff from Iceland down here.
