A time is coming to the church where "people will be lovers of self." Do you feel like this time has already come? The Bible says that in the end days we will become more and more evil, but how easy is that sin able to "creep" into the church. Be careful! It is already here, and more is coming!

We need more pastors who speak the truth of the Bible! The world NEEDS to hear about the judgement to come! Im so sick of going to Church and all they preach about is love this, love that and then money....
Lord i pray that more of your ppl will step out of the mould and speak out with confidence about the REAL GOD of the Bible. The whole world needs to hear this. We as a ppl need to change our ways of thinking before its too late! Give us the courage to speak the truth because in this day and age its not "cool" but it ultimately is the only true way to get ppl saved! Amen.

Very important point at 25:22... you are never going to get attacked for feeding the poor... but you will get attacked for preaching the morality in this book(Bible)... very good point

I was in a secular bookstore where one of the clerks there was ranting to another clerk about how Christians feed the poor, but then he griped how we often make people listen to gospel preaching while doing so. Boo hoo hoo that we would try to feed the soul while we feed the body

@Caring Canine who was Mother Teresa ever attacked by? What she did was moral and good. No one can judge where she spends eternity. Roman Catholic doctrine is flawed because it adds and changes God's Holy Word. I am not saying that I believe any Roman Catholic is damned because I am not God--and I cannot see peoples' heart. I'm just saying that it is dangerous to add to or take away from the Bible. That is all. Please don't read anything more into what I am saying.

Mother Teresa did an excellent work, but the point that Chan is making is that you WILL get attacked...on ALL fronts... for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our unity with the Father allows us to receive Power so the world can see it going out from us and believe. For unity to happen we have to know God and Jesus well enough through their Word to perceive His Will and do it.

as members of a Church we need to keep our Pastors accountable if they dont preach the truth its time for a change
ed lauz granted, I'm not super old in my 80s (I'm only 30) therefore I do not have wealth of statistics or 500 examples but:
#1 we have voiced up against wrong teaching n are told we are wrong to question God Ordained. "Infallible, God ordained Pastor" - shoved on our faces all the time.
shortly after, "Shepherd Sunday" was launched, annually, a reminder that Pastors are our leaders and shepherd.... passive aggressive to tell us to "shut it"
#2 for a fact, another Pastor was so "rocked about", abused and verbally attacked by parishioners anti-depressants had to be consumed, and later on...told anti depressants are sinful! two factions - one say "Stay!" one say "please resign!", so...what shld be done.
my point - there is no clear cut measure. sometimes parish ought to speak. sometimes parish spoke too much (ought to shut)
to adopt UMBRELLA TERMS and say "MUST MUST MUST" "DO DO DO" "THIS THIS THIS" "THAT THAT THAT" "pastors should be censored and heavily regulated at all times" is just.......cancer.
if they were to preach the truth they'd soon be out of business
Some teachers were taught incorrectly and they are innocently teaching poorly, sad point is they might not ever review what they were taught..... 😞

If you pray in the spirit and have faith then your prayers will be answered and you will be given what you need.
Your relationship with the Lord can only happen and be developed between YOU and the Lord.
You cannot expect everyone else to have that relationship for you. You cannot depend upon men to give you what you need. What if no one prays for you??
Seek God early! Seek Him for yourself!! Have faith!!! Pray in the spirit to the Father who IS spirit!
Seek Wisdom, pray for Wisdom. Proverbs 8. She is standing at the gate.

Adam Goodword God's Word says, where there are 2 or more gathered, the Holy Spirit is present. If some asks for prayer, you pray for them because his desire is for the Lord. I do agree that the only way to have that relationship, is to spend time with our Lord Jesus. He says, mediate on the Word daily and nightly. Seek me and you shall find Me. God bless and we all need prayer, as the enemy doesn't rest and has known us since birth. Deny the flesh and dwell on the Holy Spirit and also know that Jesus already paid the price and you have already been forgiven. He needs to find time just by himself and God will take care if the rest.
If you follow Jesus you will get Jesus - AMEN that is more than enough. To be in the presence of God is heaven, to be able to love Him face to face that is what we live for.
What can we expect from believers who have not grown in christ but have grown in the flesh we are living at the start of tribulation and Jesus is comming back for His church it's time to purify and cleanse our souls by turning our lives over to the one who can save us from ourselves and from certain desctruction.

Peace be with you Pastor Chan ....GOD Bless your ministry and to all Christians ministries around the World .** The LORD showed me very cleared that All Believers are really needed to **COME OUT from ** religion systems , so that we can start to walk in one Unity in Love, with one mind of one accord as the LORD JESUS giveth His important reminders in the Book of ( Ephesians chapter 4 .../ Philippians chapter 2 .../ John 15 : 12 .../ John 13 : 35 ) .
It is written that Believers are already been saved by grace through FAITH ( Ephesians 2 : 8 ) but in the last days ? GOD called everyone to Come out from the ways of men, since we are all deceived by religion systems who divided the people into many groups/ different teachings and doctrines , different practices that brought the the people into astray ( Revelation 18 : 4-5 ) Everyone are really needed to give up men ways , so that the LORD will baptize us through Holy Spirit and fire as a sign of being Born Again in a new Spirit with a new soul . ( Matthew 3 : 11.../ John 3 : 3-5 .../ Romans 8 : 14 .../ Revelation 3: 19 ) .
As a family of GOD , we need to encourage one another in Love, We need to hug our brothers and sisters without divisions , so that we can be in One as a CHRIST FOLLOWERS and if we are bond in ONE BODY with Love ? it is easy to convert the Non believers , it is because they can see the LOVE of GOD through us . ( Matthew 22 : 37 -40 ... ) .
Our FAITH in the LORD can only be right and being Alive , if we are willing to follow the will of the FATHER GOD in Heaven , because FAITH is to listen to the voice of GOD to Believe , To obey , To follow everything of what HE hath said and done . ( James 2 : 14-17 .../ 1 Corinthians 13 : 13 ).
* I always Prayed to GOD to bring us all in ONE UNITY sooner before its too late . because the BIBLE said .**.Not everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD will be saved ( Matthew 7 : 21-23 ) it is prophesied . It is because , a lot of us are irresponsible to do the will of the Father GOD in Heaven . A lot of CHRISTIANS who chose to walk into the broad road where they can find comfort to their ears and Few only who really finds the truth which are those who chose to walk into the narrow path , for there is no sweetness when we walk in the narrow road , but those rough road will bring us to Victory if everyone of us are wise to choose the path .

I have been so beat up for my love for Jesus, our Father. I have no problem with the truth and telling people they are in sin, it is LOVE, REAL LOVE, NOT wanting others to live in sin, to DIE in SIN. Or thay think what thay are doing is right because it makes them happy even though that person thoughs that he or she is what thay doing is a sin but still stay in that sin because that sin makes them happy

Ha ha sorry I thought he was talking about submitting to what a preacher says but not agreeing with it!!! I was just interested in knowing why any one would do that I know that a lot of people do that because they feel like they are under the authority of that person, but I believe in searching out finding the answer and asking the One who lives in us and teaches us all things. Dad loves us !!!!
Blessed by his ministry and his truthfulness. We need more people willing to stand for truth instead of believers who just accept that every believer is on a journey and we need to just let them figure it out. They need love and truth, because LOVE is TRUTH!

To love your self is to love God , Your true self is the image of God. The difference is knowing that it is God in you and that you are not your own. The devil want you to think that you should look every where for God But He Is In You. So, If your seeking God Look With In Your Self. (Philippians 2:13 ) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Colossians 1:27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
True message from God! We are in the times and this must be preached!
Our testimony is who we are and if who we are is not like the world then we become a witness of faith composed of many lights from the same source of power, all connected to Him, and celebrating the same event (s). What event(s)? God's mighty deeds and the message, the fulfillment, promised and given, and honoured and praised as wonderful by all who were once dead and now live.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Because it is good to love yourself and understand your value. God Himself saw fit to create you as a part of His divine work, so you should love yourself but with sober judgment. Listening to this, some people may hear the inverse of the message he speaks, the unspoken word, which is don't love yourself. But I understand where he's coming from.

Very Powerful message! I was lost, haven't gone to church almost a year. Before at that time I was very faithful and fill with God sprite. We all knew that evil sprite work really hard around in God children. I was too weak to resist, however, God was always there for me and to you all. Every time when I return to Him, He listens to my prayer. Do not be afraid to return, He waiting to forgive not to punish. Thank you for crucifixion to gave me internal life!

Love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. That only born again Christians are able to feel and show toward others. That's one of the reasons real born again in Christ Jesus Christian stands out for. When this amazing Spiritual Love is active we suffer with the ones who are suffering, it moves us to pray and take action in there needs perhaps in prayer or helping hand, a word of encouragement; what ever the Holy Spirit want to do through you for the Glory of the most High God. Jesus pray (John 17:21New Living Translation NLT). I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one-as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. Is simple as this if Jesus said it I believe it. If he prayed in that fashion then is possible. John 6:63 Jesus: ''The words that I speak to you are Spirit and Life''. they are active as we speak. When Jesus Prayed for the Church to be "one just as'' you and I are one; it was necessary because: if a house will be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand- Mark 3:25, Matthew 12:25. The Church need ( is necessary) to be united in Love to the rock of our Salvation Cornerstone Jesus Christ. I end with this I heard once a preacher said: Faith challenges logic; never let logic challenge your Faith

I totally agree with you. I know this will be kind of long but: the last two years the more I started to really focus on Matthew 18-19, and John 15:7, John 15-16, and act as if they were really true, I started to see real miracles. I think the worse things get, the more the remnant, the REAL Christians of every denomination will be drawn together by faith because faith will be all they have. When calamities really start happening, when people's backs are really against the wall, we will se groups of believers praying things together like, " Lord, send us a band of angels to put out these fires, open these prison doors, send us food, according to your promises to us in Mathhew 18-19, and because of their United great faith, it will start happening. When the oppressors and the nonChristians see this, they will be awestruck, and they will also start believing in a punishment because they will be witnesses to a great power that they cannot fathom, or overturn, . They will also realize that they are outside of the group that has access to this great power, namely God, and it will really frighten them. They will start to understand at last that they have backed the wrong horse, figuratively speaking. The more Christians are cut off from the arm of the flesh, and have no way out but God, the more they will band together United. Prayer will increase in amount and intensity, and the more they see God do, the greater their faith will become and the greater will be the staggering things they will bring to pass. Through the Holy Spirit, they will bring to pass the words of Jesus and truly do greater works than his, and we then will all lions together like the Father and the Son. All petty things like materialism, and vanity, will seem so ridiculous compared to seeing God do miracles to protect and save his remnant, all under the watchful eyes of the unsaved, and the worm will finally turn.

You directed me to read those important passages; it is so important that we open the Bibles ourselves, and don't just rely on second-hand Word experiences, which can be so tempting when there are such inspiring teachers like the brilliant Francis Chan.

Flo GRIFFIN I know. its so tempting to just listen to one sermon after another, and gain knowledge that way. i admit that because I am home all day, I am usually listening to sermons while I am doing all of my other work. It's easy to get in the habit of not actually pulling out the Bible and reading the passages. But like it says in John 15:7, "If you abide in me, and my word abides in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you." We have to do more than just intellectually agree with it, we have to really believe it and have it in our heart. We have to really know the promises of God for us and all of His children. when we study the Word ourselves, we will understand who we are in Christ, and what He has promised us. Not only does this increase our faith, whether we are praying for ourselves or interceding for someone else, but without having the word stored in our hearts, we will have no sword to stand against the evil one. Even though things in the future will be darker than they have ever been, we will have the opportunity to see the power of God manifesting in all its glory, and I know that many, many saints down through the ages have wished that they could have been alive in such a time as this. I am excited to witness it. we can compare notes, when we get to the other side
Chan is a great speaker. It is always off putting when someone is for merging the reformed church into catholocism. In the name of unity he willingly compromises the truth. End time sins are in the church, including watering down truth in favor of falling into popey heresy.

for years I've been told to serve. 30over years. in church. always the words "put OTHERS needs first". when it comes to our family, pain, needs....we were ostracized. blocked out.
the Bible asked me to be responsible towards my family, too. with nothing, how can I manage that?

I am someone who have seen the abuse of churches, in churches, with Christian jargons. I work hard to amass my own wealth now. join me if you like...unlike the top tier 1% rich who created Income Disparity n are trying to hoard ALL for themselves even keeping food til they ROT n refusing the hungry n handicapped.. unlike them, I am happy everyone toils on, and eat from the land.
however, I am done being silent n called "selfish". how about those who use the word "selfish" accusingly, how much have they given, in their lives? accusing can happen in church too, be careful.
I know Acts 2 very well. breaking bread, sharing, 3000 conversions just on that one day. I spoke widely about Acts 2.....I am branded, n accused, as a "Communist" who wants an absolute FLAT dividend of money. nope. I'm not Communist. I'm happy if there are small differences. but I am wary of top 1% creating Income Disparity.
what terms would you design, n come up with, then, for pple who are helping their blood families. and who have advocated n lived Acts 2 in the past only discovering there r those who Hoard, in the church, under the guise of "oh help, help, help me" who act poor but actually hoard. I'm an environmentalist, a vegetarian, and animal lover. I am much more concerned about all the babies we kill in wars and chemical weapons than what an unbeliever woman in the U.S. does. My prayer is to draw close to Jesus, pray and ask God to send you people who you know to be lovers of Jesus. God's peace.

Thank you Heavenly Father for this message. Our church is going through the stormy seas, the wave hits us left and right, feels like the night is so long I can't wait for the joy that morning will bring us. What keeps me going is the truth that I serve God not the church. I try to focus on what the Lord is doing in me personally, then in the church as a whole. The Lord gave me that verse in Daniel 12:10 and I believe He is truly at work. Glory to Your Name Lord Jesus.
I was in Hume Lake, when Pastor Chan was the whole week end preacher of the event. He really did well. He sounded as good as before.
I even have a picture with his wife & child. Can anyone tell me what year was that? Both husband & wife were so young, was it 2000 or 2001?

Narcissism is being perpetuated everyday. Who would have thought that taking "Selfies" would be world wide trend or building a shrine to yourself on Facebook. Their facebook page is about "look at me what I've done.", look I have lots of friends cause I'm a great person, etc.

Absolutely true. 30 years ago when I was in college it would have been unthinkable to display pictures of yourself . I had a sepia print of my grandmother on my desk at college taken when she was about 20. Due to the remarkable resemblance people thought it was a picture of me. I took so much heat over that picture, i ended up taking it down. Nowadays people take pictures of themselves as a hobby. No one would have done that when I was young. The selfabsorption level has increased to an alarming degree.

I become "Christian" at 31....now at 36 such a different human being it's hard to recognize the person I used to be--I owe God everything for changing me so much for the better. Now, I can honestly say I love what he loves, and avoid what he doesn't -- as much as humanly possible. I love God with all my heart, and his Son.

What a great message, reminder and assurance!
That is a way to start: we need to have unity !! The church is divided, not willing to be humble..we intentionally re invent the wheel whilst the church down the road is already doing what we are trying to do. Where there is unity God, The Lord commands a blessing.........too many are verbal followers but in action far from it.
Many years ago, the most holy man I have ever known, and I were talking. He was an effective man in his Church, had led many people to the Lord, and lived an incredibly holy life in so many ways. He looked at me during one very beautiful talk and said, "The most important thing you can ever do is to have a LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS." Everything flows from that.
