Damn! Milla plays these roles very well. She could have easily done Lara Croft, Domino, Black Widow or Hela. She is amazing!

She probably would have been a better Black Widow than Scarlet Johansson, but Johansson has a more commercial appealing face and maybe acting. Milla puts grace and style into her action movements like a fashion model working it.

I've only seen a few Milla Jovovich films (Resident Evil is a modern classic). What I like about her is that full on commitment to being "action sci-fi, horror, badass". I once saw an interview with her and, yes, she has younger brothers and nephews. She loves being a hero to them. And she LOVES that she does these films that appeal to 13 year old boys! SHE GET'S IT. And she throws it all down, her performance in each film shows that. Heck, that's WHY she's in them. Bravo. And why the fuck hasn't Tarantino noticed?
I think he was too busy with uma Thurman at the time and by then jovovich was playing the shitload of resident evil sequels.
Maybe she has ugly feet. Tarantino loves feet. LOL Bridget Fonda, Salma Hayek, Pam Grier and Uma Thurman all had scenes when barefoot. That's his fetish.

Under-rated and unnecessarily hated on film. Sure the plot might have been "stupid", but I classify this under the "fun but dumb" category. Action scenes for the most part were absolutely enjoyable and I for one, found the artistic, dreamlike, futuristic cinematography to be beautiful. I wish the unrated version would come to BR (so far the unrated is only on DVD)
The action scenes are absolute shit. Look at this shit. The visuals are horrendous, the choreography is just bad, the editing is poor and so on. Sure, you're allowed to enjoy it, like I've enjoyed some even worse rated movies, but it's hated on for a reason.

No it’s definitely hated for a reason. It’s okay to like bad movies. Hell I love me some bad movies personally, but just admit it’s bad and move on. No one is being harsh on the movie. From every filmmaking perspective it fails. I’m shocked that this movies came out in 2006 looking this awful, particularly the VFX.

I loved the weapons in this movie and the idea of downloading weapons out of thin air, such a cool concept and honestly I don’t even think a video game ever used this mechanic. A game like Cyberpunk 2077 should of had this mechanic/effect.
The Borderlands series basically does this.

I sense a common theme with this and the live-action Resident Evil movies: a femme fatale stereotype with skin-tight clothes amidst a sea of faceless men who serve no other purpose than target practice, and to show off her body while she kills in slow motion.

When I was a child, I LOVED this movie soooo much that I don't even want to notice the stupid moments now! Violet was my favourite movie character (or at least one of them) back then, I really loved her and she influenced me a lot! It's a core memory stuff💜

The guy that came up with the gun kata from Equilibrium didn't like how it was portrayed in that movie because the forms were too static. He wanted it to flow from one move to the next. So when he did this movie that's how he instructed Mila to move.

It’s a damn shame this movie gets so much hate. When the action sequences are so fantastical and great. Plus having little blood in the fight scenes is such a great stylistic choice (almost like the exact opposite of Tarantino). Bloodruns the society, through fear and power, and so they only show it when they are trying to convey a deep emotion. Also too bad no one ever bothered to make ultraviolet comics, the world they set up in this movie demanded to be explored in an animated version.
I saw this on some random channel on some random night during some random period of my life and tbh it helped spark my love of somewhat ridiculous sci-fi. :)
