Even with shadow of the erdtree being my 2nd least favorite souls dlc (only behind DS2) it’s still an improvement over the base game though admittedly that’s not saying much.
@capitalism7189 all fromsoft games have a ton of flaws if you want to be technical about it, yet they are some of the most enjoyable games out there. It's fine if you don't enjoy elden ring, but you don't have to ruin it for others. "Open your eyes" yeah as if looking at the flaws is gonna make me enjoy this game less. I like elden ring because it's super fun, and at the end of the day, "fun" is what I look for in a good game
I mean, the design of the boss is top tier but i wish they made a cutscene for her. Her music is the same song used in the story trailer so i think she should have had a better treatment

@@mysticmink5104 I guess that's because the DLC wasn't even 100% finished at release the way they intended to be at first, they needed more time of development. There is still a lot of things that weren't even polished very well like Radahn's fight and his second phase that was clearly intended to be better but they just ended up saying "Haha random bullshit on screen = cool and hard lmao" or added more things to the game like Romina/Rellana's cutscene or more story, they both are important bosses but they have no cutscene or even dialog despite having an extremely well-made moveset and model. Not to mention Metyr, Mother of Fingers, that is one of, if not the most important character and a key-element in all of Elden Ring's lore having literally no cutscene or a descent presentation despite having a really cool and unique quest with Ymir earlier. There is also the whole thing about the DLC not having any impact on the main game, that is also a shame. Like, it would have been cool to see Melina commend your deeds in the land of shadow like if you killed Midra, Lord of Frenzy or even discovered the Shaman village and had Melina explaining more of her mother's origins. Or even appear in a Site of Grace for you to lament her brother's death after you have killed Messmer. There is also Torrent's lore that wasn't even touched in the DLC despite being in the most popular art/cover of the DLC, Miquella riding Torrent.
I love this, but the midra theme is one of my favorites fromsoft has made, beating all songs in ER and most of the songs from other games for me, and you used like the least intense part lol

dancing lion has not only the best track in the dlc, it has the best track of any boss in any souls game. ive thought it through and ive decided thats a fact.
Messmer + Midra's = Absolute perfection. 10/10 Promised Consort is a phenomenal rewriting of Starscourge Radahn, but Starscourge is still my favorite from the base game. 9.8/10 Rellana...9.5/10 Dancing Lion, Bayle + Romina are gorgeous. 9/10
