I like at 8:33 how the music is a distorted Super Sonic theme. It represents the chaos involved in that moment. Sonic is engulfed in sorrow at the loss of Tails, and he's murderously angry at Robotnik. Both emotions combined probably drove Sonic to literal insanity

In the game, if you get the good ending you see both sonic and tails. But in the bad ending you only see tails, shouldn't that mean tails saved the day without sonic? And not him being dead?
Maybe the game is in beta, the saviour end would possibly consist of sonic getting to Eggman before he kills tails, which then sonic defeats Eggman, they both fall down to earth, and tails, with his ability to fly, carries sonic down safely.
