Buddy Emmons was so incredibly accomplished on the instrument, miles above hobbyists like myself. We're still trying to figure out some of the things he just casually played.
Thank you Aaron, i'm a beginner after 40 plus years in traditional guitar. Your pace is superb. Thanks for even talking kind of slow and deliberate.. i'm 60 yrs old...takes more time to process.. thank yu so much childless and knowledge.. godspeed friend~
Thank you SO much for your videos! I absolutely LOVE how you teach and play! You make it more understandable than as any other I've seen. I have a Fender/Sho-Bud double neck 10 pedal steel that is actually signed by Buddy Emmons and a few other pedal steel notables. Had it for years now , just starting out after playing guitar for years but losing feeling in the fingers on my hand to neuropathy. Hopefully I can continue to play country music with this beautiful instrument!
Thank you for the kind words, Michael! I hope you get to keep playing for years to come! That is a really cool sounding guitar! Feel free to email us a picture of it if you'd like! Keep picking!
Aaron, Really great lesson and clear example. I will work these into my playing asap. Love that growl on the 3rd fret G. Man you get some fine tone. Thanks so much for this valuable information.
Shannon, I am going to try and do videos on the requests that we have been getting. We will try and use ideas we get from our posts but also try and work them in the order we received them. Stay tuned and thanks! Aaron
Thanks so much. Good to hear from you, really enjoying your videos keep it up. I put the 9th string whole tone lower on and I am really liking it. Keep Picking! Aaron
friend what is the tuning of this steel and the 3 pedals A, B, C if possible, go from 1 to 10 strings, I have a steel, but it looks like tuning doesn’t match
Yes, just watch his right foot rocking the volumepedal for the swelling, and the movement of the bar in the left hand for the vibrato effect. A few players argue that one shouldn’t use the volumepedal as much. I think it’s a matter of taste and if it sounds good, it is good!
I am using the Emmons set up, with a 0 pedal or Franklin pedal as the first pedal you see. We have a video on my equipment and pedal if you would like to check it out. Keep Picking! Aaron
My grandfather (Bobby Houston) took pedal steel guitar lessons with Buddy Emmons in downtown Flint, MI.
I will make a note to check that out. Thanks for the idea.

Steel Picking thank you!
Steel Picking great lessons but curious is it a minor 2 or major 2?
@@AkinFrancis1 it’s a major 2, which “should” resolve to the fifth degree (so in that case it would be a secondary dominant)
Very nice Aaron
Thanks so much. Good to hear from you, really enjoying your videos keep it up. I put the 9th string whole tone lower on and I am really liking it.

Is that dry?
ALL the swelling and resonation / chorus-ie from technique?
