I love this so much I poured liquid fire into several ant hills in my lawn vaporizing the ants instantly as well as any chance of life they may have had
even though this is a toy for kids, this also serves as a nostalgia piece for adults who grew up with virtual pets. I can see somebody getting this for one of their kids and then sneaking it while their kid is in school.

Ooh, looks like these guys have been watching Carl Bugeja‘s channel and perfected his idea for his Holographic FlexLed technology.
The trick to filming these persistance of vision gadgets is to match the shutter speed of your recording device to the refresh rate of the display, otherwise you'll get the strobing effects, which can sometimes make it difficult for the viewer to appreciate what's being demonstrated.
They're surprisingly affordable and look cute. My neices enjoy this sort of pet collecting/evolving so I may get a couple. I wonder how long the flapping mechanism will last?
Yeah I didn't know how to adjust for it. They look way better in person. I'm hoping the mechanism is durable.

@@sebzach6090 🤔 if you refer to Digimon there is still a large following to that franchise. I prefer the pocket pets over what they recently made. If u don't know they made a kind of fitness watch. I believe it's called a digivice BE. That gives random battles with those tap scanners.

@KareemHillJr Digimon was originally a digital pet made in competition to Tamagotchi, not pokemon. Both the virtual pets, and the games still have a dedicated following. Not every game with monster collecting and battling mechanics is a rip off of pokemon.

@@outsider238 definitely they are. I used to play with alot of virtual pet stuff as a kid but I love the technology on the Bitzee so much. It's unique and cool! I hope this does become popular during the holiday season

ive seen this tech since i was a kid, elementary teacher had a clock like this in the 90's, blew my mind. sad to see it hasnt been implemented in more stuff, probably due to how fragile it is.
Yeah it's a really cool bit of trickery to the eyes. I'll be curious to see how long lasting it is. It's pretty robust but they do warn of misusing it.

When recording stuff like this, to get it to look better in post production, lower the frame rate. It helps it look more like what you would see

I'm so excited! :-D
There are actually real holographic devices in development, some of the most impresive used high energy lasers to excite water particles suspended in air to make white-flashing figures on a real 3d environment without support or not even being enclosured (this was previeved on the street) some other developments were doing the same for other colors so I guess is just about time.

Yeah I'm not sure it can be replaced. You'd have to take it completely apart. It would be interesting to see how it works on the inside. There's a motor of some kind making that flap rapidly wiggle up and down.

If you hear a noise at the bitzee that means that you swiped too slow or you swiped halfway you have to swipe fast and do the full bar. That’s why you’re not really getting onto the menu

Does it blink so much in person or is it just camera thing (like filming an old CRT)? Because if it does, I can tell it will get very annoying very fast.
No, it looks much better in person. The frame rate on my camera made it look way more flickered than it is. Also, the colors look better in person as well.
I think I could live with the flapping noises to have the nest faux hologram effect.
Yeah the noise isn't that bad. I'm too involved with the characters to notice most of the time. 😁

I wonder how long these toys last. Movement tends to wear things out quicker and that flap is gonna be moving a lot and very quickly
