    That really isn't bad at all. 14,000 miles and the trip of a lifetime $19k isn't bad at all. Well done guys! 🙂 The two most expensive parts of RVing, well besides the cost of the RV is fuel and campgrounds. For a six month trip you did very well. I am proud of you two. 🙂

    A trip of a lifetime, and that's ALL it cost? You did even better than you think. The exchange rate in Canada is in our favor. As long as you put those expenses on your credit card, you see the exchange deducted. SO, basically, you saved money😂 Miss you guys!!

    Great video guys we’ve done three Alaska trips all truck campers and absolutely melt it. The money you spend is right in line. We went quite a bit over on our last trip because we did go on a lot of excursions but we absolutely loved it. We now have a grand design solitudewhich we’re not sure if it would hold up but was thinking about next year. Have a good one thanks for a good video.

    That's really good!! We spent a lot this summer on RV parks mainly cause we booked everything last minute because we were waiting to hear back from Chase's jobs. I think we are going to get boondock set up so we can cut back on that cost. Excursions can get expensive. We spent a lot this summer on excursions but it was worth it. Thank y'all for the info!!

    I love Harvest hosts but the one thing is is a lot of them are bars or wineries and if you don't drink alcohol like me and you come back to your home and your neighbors go see you pulling out all these bottles of wine and alcohol and beer and stuff are you an alcoholic I just say to my neighbors guess what you're getting for Christmas presents this year they're all looking at the imported Scotch I had so yeah well sometimes I think it's a little more expensive to buy the bottle of alcohol and it is to stay in a campgrounds but the one thing I found with Harvesters you don't have all those kids screaming and yelling too it's usually a lot quieter

I am sitting here wondering if flying up or cruising up for a shorter period would be "better" for "us". I admit that I have not priced out the cost of flying up or cruising up...... so it may not be much "cheaper". Hey, Before you took your Alaskan trip I told you that it was better to fly up there and rent a car and hotel package it was cheaper in the long run and it's a lot less hassle and stress so what do you think was I right or was wrong. Cuz I talked to a bunch of other people that have taken the package trip instead of driving up there the reason I said that is because they have guides and everything else that's all included in the packages and it's actually you know for the money it's a better deal. It's like going out to Arizona Quartzsite the thing is the damn dusk gets everywhere and it takes you forever to clean your rig out once you get out of the area and I'm talking about the engine compartments the everywhere it's just a pain in the butt.

    Hey Chris and Katrina this was very informative and a good breakdown. When uou consider 3000 a month that was really good that is much like a budget even being at home. Thought all the categories were really reasonable amounts the only shocker was 5000 for groceris thats like 800 to 850 a month. But once you said you included the alcohol well maybe??? We may habe to start watching our budget now to make sure we are ready for the full timing. 😊 wonder who the two couples were?? 😊 Great video well done and covered perfectly!

    • @oureverydaygetaway
      @oureverydaygetaway  Месяц назад +1

      Thankfully for us we're not huge junk food snackers. We did try to be frugal with our grocery, liquor and eating out budget. If we would have stayed any longer with one of the couples we would have gone wayyyyy over budget!🤣🤣 Just sayin!! We all know who "they" are!😁😁

    • @justramblinaround
      @justramblinaround Месяц назад

      @@oureverydaygetawayLOL! We never talked about this and it may be a shocker to you. We actually usually fast 18 to 24 hours everyday. We also only drink and eat on these trips we actually don't drink for anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months in between trips currently it's been a month. We also usually in between fasting we eat vegan and vegetarian! Shocker!! What killed us was our June birthdays, July long cruise , anniversary, music festivals and yes meeting up with friends in August and September! It all killed us so back to being good again we are just going to have to balance better on these trips! 😊😅 we also use to be marathoners and I think we are going to bring that back it helps! 😊

    Thanks for the breakdown. We are researching a similar trip for 2026 and have a few questions you may be able to answer:
    We are thinking to leave our 35 foot fifth wheel in storage in favor of a class C rig. Would you buy the class C if you were to do the trip again?
    Was the 24 foot rig large enough for the three of you for a trip of that duration?
    Do you have a list of all of the campgrounds and boondocking locations you used as well as the activities you enjoyed?
    Mike and Lisa

    • @oureverydaygetaway
      @oureverydaygetaway  Месяц назад

      With it being a buyers marked currently we probably would have just taken our class A. After seeing all the larger rigs up there. Would be worried about the resale value. We feel very blessed we sold our class C as fast as we did and didn't loose any money. The size worked out fine for this trip but not to fulltime in. Yes, we have a list of all of those places. We used iOverlander and would highly suggest it when looking for places to boondock.
