- This past summer Julia and I went on the Tulum Ruins & Mayan Cenote Tour with Royal Caribbean in Cozumel.
We filmed our full experience and review for you to view to decide if you would do it.
We personally would skip this in the future but it was also a ton of fun. The video explains.
As you disembark from your Royal Caribbean ship and step ashore in Cozumel, you'll be whisked away on a scenic ferry ride to the mainland. From there, you'll board an air-conditioned coach for a guided tour to the Tulum Ruins.
As you approach the site, the ancient stone walls and temples become visible, leaving you in awe of the ingenuity and architectural prowess of the Mayans.
Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through the ruins, sharing insights about Tulum's significance, its role in Mayan trade, and its stunning cliffside location. You'll have the opportunity to explore various structures, including the iconic El Castillo, the Temple of the Frescoes, and the House of the Columns. You'll also learn about the celestial significance of the site, as Tulum was constructed with astronomical precision to align with the sun and moon.
The Mayan Cenote Adventure
After your informative tour of the Tulum Ruins, it's time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and spirituality of the Mayan world. Your journey continues to a nearby cenote. Cenotes are natural sinkholes formed by the collapse of limestone bedrock, exposing crystal-clear, freshwater pools. For the ancient Mayans, cenotes were not just sources of fresh water but also sacred sites used for rituals and ceremonies.
At the cenote, you'll have the chance to cool off and swim in its refreshing waters. The clear waters and lush surroundings create a tranquil and rejuvenating atmosphere. This experience allows you to connect with the Mayan cultural traditions that have endured for centuries.
Your guide will also provide insight into the significance of cenotes in Mayan cosmology and the role they played in Mayan culture and religion. You may even witness some traditional ceremonies or demonstrations during your visit.

Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you sharing your thoughts about the tour! It looked beautiful but half the tour was the traveling. That is a bummer! Definitely will keep that in mind if I go on this ship or tour in Cozumel! Picture Perfect Sunset! Love it! 💕🌅
Beautiful
Great footage!
This was so helpful! We are arriving by cruise ship but I chose to book a private tour to Tulum, they say we will have time for a cenote, but I am thinking that we may not want to do that after seeing your video. Of course, we won't have to wait for others to board a bus, but I think you are right about doing just one and not both in a day. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Dope
❤❤👍👍
I think he’s gonna make a video about Burger Gal on TMS AU being a reappearance
Thank you for all the information. If we book the excursion through RC, they will wait for us no matter what right? The ship wont leave in case we were late from the excursion? thanks
How long was that bus ride? Thanks 😊
Is there a minimum age that can attend this excursion? My kids are 9 and 10 and I’m wanting to take them.
Thank you for this info! We are considering doing this excursion! So was it really close call getting back by board time?
In the next video when you get back home could you Please reveal the S'more?? Please???
What would you recommend doing instead at this port?
You might just pick one instead of doing two. It makes for more time and one of them
