Video of an on-farm demo with our Patz 3600 Series triple screw trailer mixer which is our largest mixer ever. The 3600 Series Vertical Mixer has mixing capacities of 1400 to 1580 cubic feet (or 39.6 to 44.7 cubic meters) and can handle all feedstuffs, including large round and square bales, wet or dry.
Shaker box tests have shown that the 3600 Series Vertical Mixer provides the same thorough and consistent Total Mixed Ration that Patz Vertical Mixers are known for around the world.
This is an actual farm demo which includes ingredients of hay, straw, protein pre-mix, ground corn, brewer's grain, haylage, corn silage and water. The total ration weight in this video is 31,990 pounds.
@ccc7121 There is no need to start mixing too soon because the Patz mixes fast. This farmer would be OVER processing his feed if he started mixing right away while loading. Every farmer has a slightly different way of doing things. He has a large enough tractor that he can start the loaded mixer rather than mix as he loads. He is saving diesel this way and the fast mix and fast delivery of feed with a Patz mixer allows the farmer to better control his time & energy costs. Great Question. Thanks!
Patz Corporation I have 3 1750 cubic foot mixers that make feed 24/7, and they are twin screws these really don't impress me because they are too big for the cubic foot space you have. These should be a twin screw, not a triple screw.
Big really big
It one hell of a machine, we have a 1500 cow herd but we choose a self propelled self loading machine as our silage clamps are not all on the farm and that even tho we are a modern unit we would struggle to get something that size into our sheds.... i will try to get a few more vids on of what we do but check my channel if you are interested
That is one hell of a tmr mixer
You can estimate that a Holstein will eat about 6 cubic feet of tmr feed mix per day.
That's quite a lot of feed to say the least.
not sure on the specifics of the tractor in this video? However, a minimum of 200 tractor PTO horsepower is required for continuous run of this 1400 cu/ft mixer.
The mixer is our product and the video was taken on a farm which is not our own farm, so we are not sure on the details of the vac.
There are so many variables to be able to answer this question. This mixer has 12 tires on it to support the load and they are standard semi-tractor truck tires.
Yes, a factor installed flat reversible slider discharge is available as an option which discharges to the left or to the right. It has a hydraulic motor drive. The cylinder extends the conveyor 12" past the tires for feeding.
we have five series of mixers and 24 different sizes so that we can offer a mixer to meet every farmers needs. For the smaller herds we have a stationary vertical mixer that works great. Check out our M-400 mixer video for the 40-60 cow farms.
Some further comments; what is good on a large scale farm should also work on a small scale farm. Investment cost are proportionate and so are feed cost savings and profit. There is no farm too small for good TMR.
For big farms, TMR is the only way, For small family farms like they have in Holland (40 to 60 cows) a self feeding system is most profitable as it requires little investment and little time, At small scales, more input cost cannot generate more profit at the current milk and beef price.....
What vac are you using to fill those bins in the background?
Actually it's not the biggest, in Scotland there is a 50 cube feeder by the make of k an k I think
@Simonthestud Thank you for your question. "TMR" stands for Total Mixed Ration.
how many cows can he feed with that 1 mix?
@rakerman102 This farm milks approximately 2,400 cows
