Great review Joe, oh boy Attack Of The Clones! My relationship with this movie just like TPM just a on and off love and hate relationship, I remember loving it as a kid and again I was young I don’t know any better, I was still learning what makes a good and bad movie, I did rewatch this after TPM, and I was debating if this is better than the previous movie, or TPM is better than this, it goes 50/50 for me! There are few things I like in this movie, but other than that is more or less the same thing as TPM, questionable dialogue, wooden acting some moments of cringe 😂 this movie is not good is pretty bad even though I don’t hate it hate it, but it’s pretty forgettable! Am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Revenge Of The Sith and your bonus video that you have planned!!
You live and you learn as you get older my friend 👍 more power to people who like it because everybody takes away something different from said film. I do agree with you on it being somewhat 50-50 because it does in a way almost equal its predecessor. As for the bonus videos, I got coming up: both have been suggested by a mutual friend of ours (Jamsheed) and his suggestion of ROTS felt like a bolt of lightning when I realized the potential 😉 not to tease you, but just a way to get your mind ready 👍
I enjoy this film. I know some of the romantic dialogue isn’t the best, but the mystery aspect with Obi-Wan and finding out about the clones and Jedis at the end with the battle is great. Ewan McGregor is still great as Obi-Wan and Christopher Lee did an excellent job with his small part. Hayden Christensen does a fine job of being Anakin, who’s a teenager that’s supposed to have suppressed a lot of his emotions for 10 years, only for many of them to come out when he sees Padmé for the first time since The Phantom Menace. Sure there could have been times he could have been a bit better, but considering where Anakin is in his life as well as not having a girlfriend in his life, he’s going to be awkward around Padmé and will try to say and do stuff to impress her. I know many aren’t fond of this film, but I focus on the positive aspects and don’t get bogged down by what negatives are there and some people sort of make bigger issues out of some aspects of the Prequels than are really a problem. Yeah, some of the dialogue isn’t the best, but it wasn’t the best in the Original Trilogy either. George Lucas himself says he’s not the best at writing dialogue, though in terms of story and the progression of characters are written very well in my opinion and he’s a fine director as well. The score is great too, of course it’s by John Williams and he usually does an excellent job. It’s nice to hear your thoughts on this film Joe, I hope you’re doing well. Take care!
A couple of things about AOTC I need to say: 1. I would disagree that the wish away my feelings is the worst line because the ENTIRE fireplace scene is atrocious to me. 2. The Jedi looking like idiots really adds more weight to what Luke Skywalker said in TLJ about hubris and the Jedi’s stupidity came from that 3. Mace Windu should have fought Dooku because they were clearly building that up from the arena. And then save Yoda’s use of the lightsaber for ROTS when the stakes are really high. Yoda using a lightsaber in Star Wars needs to be for extreme measures like in 24 season 5 when Jack Bauer was willing to kidnap and assasinate President Logan after his role in David Palmer’s death. 4. The weird lighting when Anakin fights Dooku, JJ Abrams kind of paid homage to that in TFA when Kylo Ren fought Rey on Starkiller Base so it honestly kind of doesn’t bother me lol. Anyways I think this is an awesome review of AOTC and I can’t wait for your ROTS review.
Well when you put it that way about Luke commenting on their hubris, yeah that does make sense. I still think they could've thought it out better. Mace Windu fighting Dooku would have been quite amazing along with Yoda just using the Force lighting preceding it. I'm gonna have to go back and watch TFA and look for those images now that you mentioned it, even before AOTC I always found weird lighting kinda odd the first time I saw it. Literally ANYTHING from even "Rise of Skywalker" is better than the fireplace scene in AOTC lol Getting excited to share my thoughts on ROTS along with that specific video you and I have discussed ;)
Yesterday's dumpster fires are today's masterpieces for many people now that newer movies exist. This movie is one of them.

Same here, this movie is starting to grow on me after watching Disney’s Star Wars Trilogy/Sequel Trilogy LOL….I don’t know why but no offense….
