Wow I've looked at dozens of rolling ball sculptures in the past few weeks as I would like to attempt building one in the future, but this is my absolute favourite! The newton's cradle to send the ball down a different path is a fantastic mechanism!
That really is a wonderful piece of art, David. Still can't get over how much that paint looks like chrome! The disc lift is fab, and the elements are great. Top notch video as well. Excellent!
The guy who made it displayed it in a store he owned (that being Brain Spice). He had it sitting on a window sill for people to see as they walked by. I remember riding into town on my bike just to go to that store as a kid, although I didn't have the money to buy anything he was always hospitable and wanting to show all the cool science related toys he sold. Unfortunately the store closed as most local businesses do in my area, but I hope he's doing well and seeing this was a nice hit of nostalgia.
I've seen a few now, and this one is off the charts ~ Might be my favorite so far !
Thanks! It's being in operation in Western Australia since being built.

The shop relocated and the sculpture is still on display. The shop owner had the sculpture commissioned to fit their branding.
