    I always love seeing Albert Park transfrom from a public park into an F1 street ciruit, it just make you appreciate that F1 is racing in the city where you lived. Although I don't agree with how the tickets are being price and sold post pandemic but that's a different story. I usually walk around the park 1 week before the GP weekend just to have that F1 vibe, I ven drive on the actual street. Most of them are not closed and you can freely drive until the 4 day GP weekend starts. You can even drive your car in one of the curbs, park there temporarily and take photo and pretend that your racing in the track. Just be mindfull of the traffic though as it's still a publick road.

    Went for a drive around Albert park 2 weeks ago because I was in the area. Such a cool feeling driving down the straight with the grandstands set up. What people don't realise is that Albert Park really is just that, a public park. So much sporting activities take place year round here, soccer pitches, street soccer, AFL, and the indoor courts located on the main straight. Melbourne's main Olympic pool is also here where most of our Olympic athletes will train. I love Albert Park so much, will probably go for a drive again there a week before the race to experience the full F1 experience in my little Ford Fiesta.

      @MadeByPerspective it's doesn't require counting corners, we knew where Russell crashed, you've clearly been there, just simply got it wrong. Makes the effort of creating the graphic pretty pointless, when you clearly don't know the track.

    I used to work right next to Albert Park lake and really enjoyed driving around the "track" every day as it was being built in the weeks leading up to the GP, in my RenaultSport Megane 225 Cup. Pity about the 50 (then 40) km/h speed limit.
    I have great memories of the real F1 cars with V10 engines screaming around the track, and hearing the Nascars thundering around, virtually shaking the buildings nearby.

    I've gone to the Aus GP twice, 2023 and 2024, and the overall vibes has always been amazing. Last year, got signatures by Zak Brown, and James Vowles, and managed to get Jack Doohan to take my phone and take a photo with it! Glad to see its coming together for 2025, and expect whoever goes to have a blast

    I will be going on race day this year for the first time! I went to practice on Friday in 2023, and it was super cool to see Max spin out in the car park corner ( I can’t remember what number it is lol) but seeing Max sin in front of me and my dad was amazing! I also went last year to qualifying! I just didn’t see Max spin that time lol. But I can’t wait for the race this year!

    Why does it always take a death or a very serious situation to fix stupid walls in racing. It doesn’t even take an engineer to see problems years and decades before something happens. Like everything you are saying about the area was true and obvious before last years last lap.

    I've moved back to Brisbane but lived in Melbourne for 25 odd years. I used to love the GP until I found out about the massive Historic meeting they had at the Island the weekend before. At the time I lived about half way between the two and so used to go to the historics as the GP was on telly. You want bang for your buck? Slip on down to the Island. Whatever the historics they have at the GP, for instance one weekend they had Can Am cars, they run them at the Island as the "Special Guest" category the weekend before. Anyway enough of my rant. I enjoyed the Vid and seeing everything come together. I used to roll through the area before the meeting just to get the "juices" flowing.

    They really need to make a hairpin chicane like the Mexico City stadium 🏟️ one after turn 3. Would completely fix the racing problem on this circuit. Albert Parks problem is it has wayyy too much momentum. This would put a nessasary break in the circuit laps momentum that’s desperately needed. But nonetheless I’ll take the extension of the middle straight 👍 haha 😂 for now anyway.

    • @thickquinkly1560
      @thickquinkly1560 2 дня назад

      I hope this is a tongue in cheek comment, but it's so hard to tell nowadays. So many circuits are diminished by chicane or other momentum killing 'character' pieces. While we know these exist for safety or geographical reasons, and therefore put up with them, one of the things that makes Albert Park such a great circuit is that that it doesn't need, nor does it incorporate, such pointless features as these, except, mutter, mutter, for the turn 1 traffic calming device. One is more than enough!
