@@marquitaarmstrong399 I'd call that freedom to control folks. But my thought isn't that part of what he got in there for? Controlling people to take away their children, to force under age kids to have sex, to force the people into doing things that are immoral and anti-biblical.
As an American Convert Muslim I can say our history isn't devoid of crazies claiming to be the next Prophet even though Mohammad (sAaws) was absolutely clear he was the last.(Except for Jesus (saaws) who will return but he's not technically the last) In Sunni Islam there is no current mouthpiece to God, all Imams and Scholars are people who are fallible. For general guidance we read the Quran and for special Divine Guidance we have a special prayer to the Almighty

Yes, that is so fascinating that a man in control of a cult commonly imagines he can extend his control over the world. I also hear over and over when someone such as Charlie Manson or the Kansas City Bomber commits a hate crime spree murder, they actually believe they are inspiring others to follow their lead. Weird delusions. And they never notice that the other men who have already tried to be that "inspirational" always failed and were reviled.
We find it very interesting as well. Though they always fail in the end, it is so sad that people do get caught up in their evil plans.
How many FLDS groups are there. I only know the Jeff's and Kingston groups. Glad if your channel. This stuff really interests me. Sam should write a book. I don't read much but I would read that one
The FLDS and Kingstons are different groups. They’re both Fundamentalist Mormon offshoots, but the FLDS is the Jeff’s group and the Kingstons are a different family

•The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Kingdom of God (break off from centennial)
•Bountiful British Columbia which started flds and split into two those who stayed flds and those who now are the •Church of Jesus Christ Original Doctrine lead by Blackmore
•The Righteous Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (RLDS)
•True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days
•School of Profits
•Branch Davidians
•Independent Mormon Fundamentalists

Forgive my ignorance, but is Ruland a name from BOM/similar, or is it a family name passed down in different directions? I’m just struck by the couple/few I’ve heard of and how they led different groups.

Rulon is a German name, German version of Roland. Not a Mormon name but there are definitely several with the name

Have you done an interview with Elissa Wall? She was part of the reason Warren Jeffs was caught and tried. She has moved back to the Spring Creek area after a lot of therapy and time. It sounds like she was in the cult when you were. I saw her on Mormon Stories and would love to hear her story again.

When I studied psychology, there is a defense mechanism in humans where we have to justify doing evil. I think this was defiantly at play in these break off mormon cults. How tragic for everyone involved.
Mainstream LDS Mormons are just as brutal.

i just love listening to you guys. every video i learn so much from you! what i liked particularly about this video was seeing you speak with a bit more anger and upset towards warren - it is so admirable how much peace and acceptance you have in your hearts but also it's okay to say how awful sams environment for an upbringing was! i know he had a happy childhood but it most certainly wasn't average and what rulan & warren were doing was horrifying. i will always support your platform guys because you're bringing light to such important issues!!x

So I was wondering the same thing and they never actually talk about what happens to him, but I did look up all the children and it says he’s deceased and it has two reasons why he’s deceased. Neither are natural. It looks like it’s unknown.

Surrounding you with God's Love! I am learning so much from your videos...like how the world's religions have gotten and kept us on the wrong track! So far away from the real love of God. Killing, liying, and harming in the name of Love. So sad! But we must recognize this in order to see our way out of Wars and terror and evil acts. Although right now the Mormans are taking the heat, this mind set applies to the Crusades and how politics have used all religions to carry out atrosities since forever! Carry on with Love!
respetfully, goverments/poltics created religions to make the women/working class/poor people/slaves more perfect victims to tolerate suffering, exploitation, and abuse at the hands of the rich/powerful/goverment. all patriarchal religions are the same, it's about money first, control second, ensuring male entitlment to sex through grooming women to obey male religious authority which includes your husband.
