You're not kidding about those Florida summers. Absolutely brutal! The alligator thing is probably the main reason why we don't live in Florida. There's definitely a lot to love about the state though.
We love to vacation in Sarasota but have decided not to retire there. The area is overdeveloped with too much traffic and too many people with more development in the works. As outdoors people we think we would end up spending more time inside to escape the sun and relentless heat than we do in New England.
Hi there, I appreciate your feedback. I absolutely love living here but yes it's not for everyone. That's why it is important to visit first and experience the area. Most people I know love it, but some don't because of the heat, critters etc.
Better to be in Maine and avoid the disdain and bunch of homeless+ druggies people they hangout downtown Sarasota and Sarasota library and next to downtown Starbucks
Living in New York all my life. As I’m getting older I cannot handle the cold winter like when I was younger. Looking for a slower paste of life also. Going to give Florida a try.
I know more about your home town than mine. Ha Ha. You provide so much info in Such a short time. Great Talent you have. You did see a shadow of me. It's a start ha ha. The material I am using is still from last oct. Once I have edited the rest I am sure I will pop out of the bottom left hand corner of the screen soon. I'm thinking of starting off with the new format from the boat. Showing off areas of the south west coast line with the Drones and Hand camera. Catching the four seasons. I'm sure you will like the sunsets and sunrise from the same area as well as your Home sunsets. Will catch up with u again soon. Mike🥂🥂
Hi Katrin! I am enjoying all of your videos, as I consider relocating to Sarasota (from Las Vegas). I am a medical professional, and Im considering taking a travel position there, for a more in depth experience of life there, but I will also be there for a short trip next week to check it out. That said, can you suggest some places we should check out, that will give us a better idea of life in Sarasota? Thank you so much!
Hi Marie, glad you are enjoying this channel :). Check out this video for places to visit: ruclips.net/video/TKfvC3gZoG4/видео.html . Also, go to TripAdvisor for Sarasota and see what Things To Do are trending. If you want to get to know the different neighborhoods, drive through downtown, the Hillview area (close to the hospital), Arlington Park, Alta Vista, Palmer Ranch, South Gate, Gulf Gate, and East of 75 just to name a few. If you have any questions while you are here, feel free to call me anytime. Enjoy your stay!
The short version and the moral of the story is. Unless you have a ton of money..so you can afford to live in two different climates don't move to Florida.
You forgot to mention if you have to work you'll make no money, you are working poor. Rents up to 2100 for old buildings or space that was 1100 to 1500...2021. Now putting workers out of apts... Wealthy is all they care about.
Hi Elle, yes rents are up quite a bit unfortunately. The County is working on a program to provide more affordable living to workers and more jobs for them as well. Let's see how this will evolve.
@@katrinstake Livable wages is needed now. There are Plenty of jobs, Jobs that don't pay. Unless they have apts that match their wage now, working on it won't help.
@@katrinstake it’s not a feeling, it’s a fact! It’s a crap show here. Look around you. Traffic and accidents on the daily. No place to live unless you’re a millionaire. Like bye.

Nice points, Katrin. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Happy holidays to you as well :)!!!

Thank you Anita! Have a great New Years :)!

Try it. Maybe just come and rent for a while. Try to come in the summer because that's the weather many people have a harder time adjusting to. :)

I thought I saw you but would love for you to be in front of the camera narrating. You have such a great sounding UK accent :).

Great info. Thanks!
Thank you for watching Kevin! I am glad it was useful to you. :)
Like the part with the Alligators. "Here be dragons!"
Please why are there so many lakes? Are they Natural? If Artificial, is that for Beautification & or to Runoff Flooding?
Mostly beautiful I would say...homes typically sell fastee with lake views.

@@MaurElle11 Yes agree...
If you don't mind over population move here
That's relative. The city is recruiting more people to work and live here with a campaign. Not enough workers for the expansion we are experiencing.
Sarasota has been destroyed by to many people moving down there
I am sorry you feel that way...
