Fu heng wanted a sensible and sweet woman that obey.. Ying luo is opposite.. Women like her not suitable for fu heng, only powerful man like emperor can give her sense of security and she can revenge.. With fu heng she'll become doormat..

Having Yingluo become a consort does feel a little stereotypical. Before she was motivated by the need to seek justice for her sister, then by the love for her empress. Now she's supposedly seeking the truth about how the 7th prince was killed, but the story revolves entirely around her coming up with way to get the Emperor's favor. I practically forgot what Yingluo was supposed to be doing!
well besides the drama behind the show(s), these days there is this “tradition”in this kind of TV in china, women will not have it all, especially love, to show how overwhelming the monarchy is, actually letting her and the emperor developed such kind of relationship was already a kind gesture

She and Fuheng obviously communicate privately, but have to be formal & distant with each other in person because of the jealousy, suspicion, accusations, and knowledge of their prior relationship by the emperor & concubines. They still love and take care of each other - secretly.
