Ppl will call him out about it if it was today..thanks god he was able to express his imagination without letting ppl get to him about it being racist.he probably chose her because of her long unique arms ..it makes it looks more intresting and more esthetic
The only thing that annoys me about early McQueen is the lack of attention for menswear. There was so many opportunities here for amazing menswear. It’s all boring compared to the theatrics of his womenswear.
Ben M He often said he preferred doing womenswear because he hated misogyny and wanted to challenge it. He said he liked making them feel powerful and imposing because he wanted men to be scared the way women usually are.
+Nama Farm That poor girl was rewarded by been shackled to all 4 extremities and then walk up and down a set of stairs!!!! We should get Anna Wintour, that guy that weights about 400lbs and is always wrapped up in about 3 miles of shinny table cloth and who's nose is wider than the Sahara Desert-Andre Leon Talley, that's it, wear and walk in that shit so they can experience the beauty of what they preach: Fashion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@EEDiazL that "poor girl" is a famous model and was asked by mcqueen if she would want to wear the shackles bc he said she looked mesmerizing walking with it and she said yes, you absolute imbecile.
it wasnt meant to degrade her in anyway. she even asked McQueen backstage if it was about slavery and he assured her it wasnt. it took her a second to think about it but she said yes she would wear it. She said she did not feel fettered like a slave. She also said she was proud of her heritage and race and she would never do anything humiliating.
The most fun McQueen show ever!! GENIUS!
And the music selection is awesome!
Much of those garments remain relevant today. And Debra Shaw's appereance at 12:20 is beautiful, haunting and terrifying at equal parts.
the makeup and fabric is just fabulous...models did good work too.
And at 12:20 the infamous lady in the shackles an iconic moment in fashion history and worn by the legendary Debra Shaw! An exquisite supermodel!!!

If the world of mad Max ever became a tiny bit civilized this is what it would look like, " if you break a deal you gotta spin the wheel "

La exprecion es libre pero el agua ahi es por gusto

Chi Chi vision.....fashion is great, but these women all look like they needs to eat a cheeseburger .. ...

its disappointing the models had to be so sexualised. it just distracts from the collection
@jana rot not it distracts YOU from the collection. I see it as performance art. People have genitals get over it
Blah, blah, blah. Blah. ...
Like this is the first show that "sexualised" woman.
uuuh ??
we are birds of paradise. . it's all sexuality.
