- The Frankfurt airport in Germany is a great airport to connect off to other cities in Germany or Europe. Frankfurt is the financial hub of Germany, but is a relatively small city making it easy to get to the city center from the airport quickly during your long layover. We had about 6 hours from when we landed to when our next flight left and we were able to spend about two and a half hours exploring Frankfurt. In this video we'll share everything you need to know for your Frankfurt Germany long layover like how to get to the city, what to do with your bags, what to do, and how much it costs. All information and prices are from October 2022.

Hey.. Thanks a lot.. I have my trip next week... will follow the same itenary.. this was very helpful
Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful trip 😊
Thanks for this. I’ve got a ten hour layover in a few weeks.
Have a great time exploring! It’s a perfect long layover spot 😊
Thank you so much for this video! I believe we'll have about 4 hours to spend in Frankfurt. Super excited now. What was the name of that cafe? It sounds very nice. We are going to be coming in around 8 am into the city.
You’re welcome! I’m sure you’ll have a great visit. The cafe is EINSTEIN KAFFEE Römerberg 😊
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thank you!
You can also have a wonderful view from the observation deck of Main Tower in a high of 200m.
That’s a great tip! And I imagine you don’t have to climb the stairs 😂
@@AnyoneCanTravel only 10m 😁 ruclips.net/video/t3Outt4eGyM/видео.html And on the southern edge of the city, the Goethe tower offers the most beautiful view of the entire city ruclips.net/video/4scaEjwYZIs/видео.html
Thank you for the tips! We’ll have to check them out next time 😊
Really cool! Was your layover like 6-8 hours? Did you go straight from the cathedral to the airport? Sometimes it's hard to gauge if you have enough time to get in and out of the airport to the city. Storing your luggage at the airport is a really good tip!
Our layover was 6 hours and we spent a little around 2 and a half hours in the city center. We finished at the cathedral but it’s right next to the metro stop so you could start there or at Römerberg.
Do u need a visa to leave the airport?
That depends on what country you are from. If you’re from the US you do not need a visa. An e-visa called ETIAS will be required in the future but not until 2025.
@@AnyoneCanTravel I'm coming from the U.S.., thank you
@@easye1311Yep, with a US passport you’ll be good 😊
I love you travel videos they're very informative and the scenery you capture is beautiful. Would a four hour layover give you enough time to visit Romerberg?
Thank you! That helps me motivate me to keep creating 😊
Oooh 4 hours is tough. You wouldn’t have much time in Römerberg probably an hourish. I think it depends on a few things like how long it takes you to get through immigration and customs (if applicable), what current security lines are like (last year Europe had some very intense security lines that were hours long), do you have to recheck bags, how far is your gate from luggage storage and public transportation, etc.
In theory public transportation takes 30 mins so if it takes you 30 minutes to get to the train from the plane and then 30 minutes to get to Römerberg you have an hour in Römerberg and then 30 minutes back to the airport to be there 1.5 hours before your flight with a little wiggle room for any delays. In the end it depends on if it’s worth it to you for an hour and conditions at the airport on the day of your flights.
@@AnyoneCanTravel Thanks for your advice and expertise!! Please keep creating you have awesome content on your channel!!!😊
Thank you! ❤️ I hope you have a fantastic trip.
Hi you mention you will will go to Italy as your final destination so where did you went for luggage locker T1 or T2 ? thanks
We arrived in T2 so we stored our luggage in T2 but since our flight on Lufthansa to Sardinia left from T1 we should have stored it in T1 since that’s where the train leaves from too. You’ll want to store your luggage in the terminal your next flight leaves from so you aren’t rushing to get your luggage and get to you gate for your flight.
Are you from the USA? Did you need to apply for a VISA to go out and explore on your layover? How do you do that?
Hi! I do live in the US. As a US citizen you do not need a visa to visit any countries in the European Union including Germany, but starting sometime in 2024 (no official date yet) visitors from the US will need an online approval called ETIAS. There is still some time before that comes into affect next year.
