    Just a question/polite request. Since it is goalie appreciation month. Could you guys make a video about training alone? Our club has very little access to pitch etc. over the summer. Any ideas what to practice/what to do over the summer?

      As a goalie it might be very hard. It is a good video for the next goalie month

    That banner behind the box, the surname Drijver, is that perhaps Martijn Drijver? I had the honour of coaching with him at a schools clinic when he was here in South Africa a couple years ago. It was mindblowing and and I learned a lot from him!
    Also, I love this video! 👌😀

      Yes, that's from the Drijver Goalie Academy. There in the partner of Martijn! Well noticed!

    Thanks for another amazing video. Great tips!!!! I have just done a tournament and I struggled with how to defend the far post if your defender cant get there in time, I don't know if there are any tips for this but.....😁.

    • @HockeyheroesTV
      @HockeyheroesTV  5 лет назад +2

      Make sure your defender will get quicker and more awake!!!
      Second post tip-ins are not your responsibility, if you focus too much on that, the direct balls go in!

      @@HockeyheroesTV that makes sense! Thanks😁

    • @jong3303
      @jong3303 3 года назад

      From my experience, like said above its responsibility of defender. You can at times step out a bit more aggresive or earlier, which may work to intercept balls to 2nd post.
      But the downside is leaving your 1st post more vulnerable.

    Hello Dennis: I have a question for you; I'm very short (1,57 m) so for me it's very hard when the ball it's very high, get that with the globe in my left hand. Could you please gave me some advice for solve this situation? Thanks you so much for your videos, that have been being very useful for me. Best Regards.

      You need to put more power in your legs to "jump" more. With more explosiveness you can reach more space in less time. You should talk with your Conditioning Trainer.

    • @HockeyheroesTV
      @HockeyheroesTV  5 лет назад +5

      You could try to go a bit more forward to cover more from your goal. And it's also about the technique, I'm not a fan of jumping, but more a very controlled push and a drag of the entire body!
      My tip, for balls in the corner, don't think about your hand that has to go there, but first your upper body and the stretch your hand!

    Can confirm if you mistime a slide or something and sit on your knee, leaving it unprotected. If it gets hit, it really hurts

      @@sankbiank7069 quite a while back i had a match, where somehow every blockslide i did the attacker managed to walk slightly past my pads and hit me straight in the knee. That happened 3 times that match. Twice on one knee and once on the other
      Definitely hurt, but I did keep the balls out and recovered for the next week. After that my timing I think has been a bit better somehow, hasn’t happened since.
